New member about to have Lap Band surgery

Hi everyone, I'm Rick from the Fayette Co. area. I'm 30 years old and have stuggled with my weight since I was a child. I currently weigh 458 and I'm 6' 1" My heaviest weight was 501 lbs at this time last year. 

My pre-op seminar is this coming Monday and my surgery with Dr. Shin is scheduled for the following wednesday (9/23)  I'm full of nervous excitement and can't wait.

Hi Rick,

I'm waiting for my call to have my lap band with Dr. Shin.  I'm very excited for you.  Hopefully I will see you at one of the meetings at W/C hospital.

Hi, Rick!  Congratulations in your decision for lap band surgery.  Dr. Shin is also my doctor.  I was banded on 3/30/09 and it was definitely the best thing I've ever done for myself.  Best of luck to you.  Keep us posted and if I can answer any questions for you don't hesitate to ask.  Hugs,

Hi Rick,

Welcome to the boards. This board isn't very busy. I spend most of my time on the VSG board.

Dr Shin is my surgeon also. I have jumped through all the insurance hoops and am awaiting approval from my insurance company. I live in the Beckley area.

Hi Rick!  I'm just a day behind you, I'm having my surgery on 09/24 with Dr. Duremedes in Princeton.  Congrats on your surgery and prayers for success for you! 

How are you doing since you had surgury? How much have you lost? I was approved on Oct 5, 2010 to have the realize band...im really excited!!!
