Anyone hear from Karen??
Pat,
Hi there, This is Karen B. from Bluefield. I was so glad to see someone remembered me. I haven't really been on here enough for that so thank you so much. I did have my sleeve surgery on 2/10 at CAMC - Memorial and everyone was so kind and really help me through this process. I was absolutely scared to death and it was over so quickly and the minute my eyes opened in recovery and I realized that I was ok, I just had to thank God for taking care of me and giving me this incrediable opportunity to change my life. I have been so large for so long, I don't know any other way of life so this is a completely new journey for me. I was in the hospital 2 nights and got home last night about 6pm. It was not a fun trip home on the turnpike. I held a pillow up against my tummy just about the whole trip. My nausea is beginning to leave, I was able to drink some broth today. I lost 44 pounds pre-op and I haven't weighed since so I don't know if I have lost anymore or not. I feel like I have though.
Thanks again for thinking of me!

Karen - Glad to hear from you and hear that you are doing well. I also am thankful for the opportunity to make some major changes in my life. I haven't been banded yet - hopefully in March. But I also plan to make the most of that opportunity and look forward to life as a slimmer, healthier woman. I'm new on the forum as well. Please check in regularly and let us know how you are doing. We all need to know that we can get on this site and get a word of encouragement or some possible answers from those who have been there. Take care of yourself, Karen. Hugs, hugs, - Pat
Wooooo hooooo Karen Congratulations on the success of your surgery! I am so glad to read that you did great. Please post an update every so often so we can follow your journey. There are a lot of people that read but are too shy to post or whatever the reason may be, but we need to encourage eachother.

Cira 249/144.0 current/goal 154/ 5'3" 10 lbs below my Dr's goal
Hi Cira
Thanks so much, this has truly been an interesting beginning for me. I went back to the doctor on Monday so I could have the tubes and staples removed. I had lost 17 pounds since my surgery. That makes my total 61 lbs. I was very excited. Today is the first day I have been able to attempt to eat. I had 1/2 scrambled egg and it didn't settle in my stomach too well. But I am thankful that things have went as well as they have. I have a lot of nervousness about getting leaks, etc.. but I truly am putting all those things in God's hands, because I know that he brought me this far. Your posts are very encouraging, thanks so much for that.
Have a great day!
