Fluid intake????
Just wondering how you are doing with your daily fluid requirements as a post op?
It took me a year to be able to drink at least 80 ounces of fluids in 24 hours.
I can now drink about 100 oz in a day but not always. I must admit that this is something I struggle with everyday.
Can you tell me what do you do to make yourself reach your daily goal?
Thanks for sharing in advance.

I have to admit that I do not get all of my fluid in. I feel like I am drinking constantly and not getting any where. I even wake up in the middle of the night and take drinks.
I too need to know the secret of getting it all in. The nut at the office tells me it shouldn't be any problem. Yea right!!!

You know "our" nutritionists really have no idea how hard it can be for many post ops to reach their daily fluid requirement. Especially when we are so early out. I remember when I was 2 months out the most I got in was 40 ounces in a good day!
What my surgeon told me was to not shoot for the 64 oz this early on but to shoot for a realistic goal and gradually increase that goal on a weekly basis. That worked out so much better for me and I stressed less about it.
So if one week I was drinking 40 oz every day then the next week I would shoot for 45 oz a day. If I met my goal for that entire week I would raise another few ounces.
Also I have a friend that takes 6 bottles of water a day to work and a few thinks of sugar free to go drinks (great value brand walmart) or crystal light or lipton s/f. She would drink a bottle of water or add the drink to it and when she was done with that one she open the next bottle. the bottles would be on her desk so she can remember to sip sip sip all day.
I hope this helps some.
Drinking your required fluid helps with the weight loss and keeping your body healthy.
Have a great day!
