Hello all!!!  I am trying to find anyone here in WV that has had revision surgery.  I have been on the revision forum but has yet to meet anyone from WV.  I have a appointment with Stickler but I am not sure he has done any.  I do know that Dr Shin has done a few.  Anyone?

From what I understand about revision, it is changing one type  of weight loss surgery into another. Example, you first had the lap band but did not have the desired result or complications.  Then it is decided to take out the band and have a sleeve put in place.  Dusty

I give because I have been given much.

Sorry about the late reply but I don't get on this site very often.  I read your posts about revision surgery and thought I might give you my experience.  I had gastric bypass in April 2001 lost appr. 130 pounds.  My first surgery was done by Dr. Denning in Huntington.  I regained all the weight after a while because I  never felt full.  I decided it was time to do something about it and called Dr. Dennings office which is now Dr. Neases practice about 1 1/2 years ago.  It took me awhile to get an appointment and then had to wait in their waiting room for 3 1/2 hours only to see Dr. Nease for maybe 5 minutes tops.  It was a nightmare trying to deal with their office so I contacted Dr. Robert Shin in Charleston by email and he emailed me back the following day saying he would love to try to help me with my problem, set me up an appointment and to make a long story short I am now 6 months out from my revision surgery.  Dr. Shin is a great, great doctor with much compassion for those of us who need more help than some.  He found problems with my first surgery and was able to work with me until we got my insurance to approve my second surgery.  I have now lost 104 pounds and am doing fine.  Dr. Shin follows up with me every three months which I never really got with the first surgery.  I am sure Dr. Nease is a fine surgeon he has a great deal of satisfied patients, they just didn't seem to care much about my failed surgery.  After 2 months and 3 1/2 hours in the waiting room I felt like I deserved better than 4 or 5 minutes with a hand on the doorknob visit. (there I got that out, now I can move on).  I would be happy to talk with you about my revision or answer any questions you may have.  Good luck to you what ever you work out.  Tammy
