Gastric Sleeve
Wanted to let those who are researching, lookinf or lurking....that Dr. Daniel Stickler with Medabolix is now performing the VGS - Gastric Sleeve procedure laproscopicaly. This new option is one that I know may interest many because of the mal-absorption issures with RNY. Didn't know if the word was out yet, but wanted to encourage those looking to definately know this.

Can you please let me know how long was the recovery after the Gastric Sleeve?
Also, were there any foods that you absolutely could not tolerate after surgery?
And have you ever drank alcohol since the surgery? If so, how did it go? (I'm talking about an occasional drink from time to time)
I am having my lapband removed and getting the Gastric Sleeve soon.
Thanks,
Chrissy
Hi!
Fried foods really bother me and red meat, breads and pastas are hard for me to digest. I have never drank alcohol, before or after my surgery, so I can't answer that question. Your stomach is only the size of your index finger, so you can eat very little. You have to take very small bites, chew them really well and take your time. The same goes for drinks. The recovery was about six weeks I think. Good luck!
