Self pay

has anyone had to self pay i was told one price 3 weeks ago. My Doc's appointment was change till last week . now there saying the price is 6 g's more. I can't belive this i was hoping for this friday , and of course the billing is a different department so now waiting for doc's office to call. I have done all the tesing and fighting with insurace company just to get a no for the anwser........Please help me........need to find good docters and prices. There starting to win...I'm ready to give up.... Laureen

Hi Laureen! Don't give up hope. It is very frustrating to deal with insurance companies, but it is all worth it in the end. I can personally recommend Dr. Robert Shin at CAMC. Not only is he one of the best surgeons in the state, he is the head of bariatric surgery at CAMC and they have one of the lowest cash prices for this surgery. His staff can also help with insurance questions. They can also put you in touch with someone at CAMC to help with financing, if needed. If that route doesn't help, there are other surgeons in the state who aren't as low in cost, but they are top-notch surgeons. Their staff will help you, also.
