PLEASE HELP!!
I had gastric bypass in Sept. 02..I lost 110 lbs in 6 months and kept it off for a few years. This past year I have been through great amounts of stress and have started eating more and exercising less due to some medical issues resulting from the Bypass. I have got to get this under control before I gain it all back. has anyone in the Charleston area gone through the same thing and can anyone3 shed some light on where I start to finally kick my metabolism into high gear again and drop 30 lbs? Please feel free to e-mail me directly at

The formula is still the same. More calories less exercise and weight comes back. Remember that the GBS is only a tool. The rest is up to you. I recommend that you weight regularly. My wife and I weigh every day. Over a few days we can spot a trend and act accordingly.
Get your protein in before you eat much of anything else. Try to do 45-60 grams and get all of your water/liquids in every day.
Look at pictures of yourself prior to the surgery and ask yourself if you really want to go back there.
If the surgery has done for you what it did for my wife and me, count your blessings. We got our vitality back and feel 10 years younger. We never, ever want to go back to where we were a year ago.
I know that this sounds like "tough love" but there is no magic bullet.
I wish you all of the best,
Curt
