Cooking for everyone else.
Donna:
This is normal. I am 5 weeks out (9-19-06). I too cook for my spouse and know what you mean. It gets easier. Anytime you diet you can get moody and bite everyone heads off. Especially if you are used to caffeine and have stopped drinking coffee or pop. It is a big adjustment, but in the long run it is worth it. Think of this as the beginning of your new life. I keep telling myself anything worth while is usually not easy and that keeps me going. Some people set goals for themselves. For me, my goal was better health. I can tell you I am down 40-50 lbs. and I already can breathe better, am walking more and just feel better. Hang in there.

Thanks Peggy, at least I know I am not alone. My husband hasn't been feeling well, and is extra sensitive to my moods. I am on day 10 of my liquid diet and forgot this was PMS week also! So, I am so moody!
I had made this decision in 1999, but it has taken until now to get insurance approval. I have 60 days to get it done without starting all over again, and my surgeon hasn't given me a date yet. So, you can imagine the stress in my house right now!;)
Donna: Who is doing your surgery? I wouldn't worry about the 60 days. I am sure that the doctor will make sure you get your surgery down in the time limit. My surgery was 2 weeks after i got approval.
My husband tells everyone that I am doing this and have been dieting since July and he has lost 30 lbs. I guess I changed so many of my habits and even the way I cooked that he lost weight. Plus it could be the fact that since I wasn't eating all the junk, he didn't get all the junk.
