Congratulations!! Don't worry the anxiety is normal. It's like slow moving and then all of a sudden your surgery is scheduled and you're going into the hospital. I became a little anxious but was also very excited to be starting my journey back to the person I want to be. This week I finally jogged for 10 minutes on the treadmill. Something I hadn't done in almost 7 years. It is so worth it.
Good luck and let me know if I can help out. The first few days after surgery are a little dicey but you forget about that pretty quick.
Happy Holidays!

Would you be able to call their customer service numbers and ask if they cover Bariatric Surgery?

Topic: Which HMO should I choose?
I have Badger Care Plus and have been given the choice of which HMO to join.  My choices are Dean Health Plan, Physicians Plus Insurance Co, Group Health Coop SC WI, and Dean Health Plan Inc.  I am located in Madison.  I was wondering if anyone has had experience getting any of these to approve weight loss surgeries.  I just have no idea which to choose.  I do not want to choose one that I have no chance of being approved with.  Also does anyone know which surgeons in the Madison area except this kind of insurance.  Thank you so much for whatever advice you can share with me.

Topic: RE: Brand new here and just starting on this journey HELP!!!!!
I had Badger Care Plus insurance and even though they said they only cover the RNY, they approved me for my DS.
Just wanted to add, please make sure to include the Duodenal Switch in your WLS research. Any questions, I'd love to help!

You can look in the book they gave you about your insurance, or call them, that would be the first thing you need to do. If they cover it then you need to find a doctor.

I now have Badger Care Plus insurance and was wondering what my chances are of being able to get weightloss surgery with it.  I do not even know where to start on all this!  Can you give me some advice of how to start this journey from finding a doctor, how I get my insurance to pay for it and so forth!  Thanks so much!

Thank you, I appreciate that very much.  Today, I had my preop testing. Tomorrow, I meet with the dietician regarding my meal plan.  Monday, I have my physical, and Wednesday is the day...

When I got to the hospital today, some of the anxiety left.  Everyone was very friendly and my coordinator has been very helpful.

So the next chapter begins...  Next year, I plan to be playing in the men's hockey league this time of year.  I have been too out of shape in the past and it about killed me to skate.

thank you again and  have a Merry Christmas and hopefully I will have an update by New Years day.
