Topic: RE: Brand new here and just starting on this journey HELP!!!!!
Hi Leslie!
I too have Badger Care Plus and I was approved for surgery in one week. They do require a 6 mo supervised diet and two comorbidities. I went to the Bariatric Institute of WI in Waukesha. I had Dr. Wu and he was wonderful. Everything went great and I am now on the loosing side with no complications or problems. His staff does everything for you so the process is very easy and stress free!
Check them out!
Good luck with everything!

Topic: RE: support group meetings...
Appleton has them at Theda Clark, not sure when they are tho. I know it's $10 a time too, the patients there have it included in their price of the surgery but outsiders have to pay it. I went once with a group and we all had to be the $10 and it wasn't any better than the free on in Green Bay.
I go to Green Bay's which are the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month - free. It's at Bellin Hospital.

I know you have to have co-morbidity health issues for them to condider payment. I have high blood pressure, pre diabetes, and osteoartheritis and degenerative disc disease. They told me that none of these were life threatening because I have some control with medications so they denied my request. Fortunately I have other options.
Good luck.

Topic: RE: Which HMO should I choose?
my bariatric surgeon, Bobby Wu and his staff said it is easiest to get approved through childrens community care plan which is like dean depending where u are from and also abri but childrens community is good because u wont need referrals to all the appointments and testing you will need prior to submitting for preauthorization.
Topic: RE: Which HMO should I choose?
Im not sure on the choices you have, but i know I have badger care plus, but my hmo is united healthcare, and it's a covered service with them, with requirments to follow before getting the surgery.. I believe the dean health is one that covers it but dont quote me on it.. I would call the customer service and ask them, they should have no problem telling you if they do or not... Good Luck on your journey

Topic: RE: Does anybody have a good source for vitamins?
I bought a chewable Caltrate with calcium and vitamin d at walmart. I bought a chewable bariatric advantage vitamin online. I take both of them so I can get the extra calcium.
