Hi Maurie, Dr. Chua is my surgeon too (12/15/2009)... you have in your signature "Doc's goal" for your weight... did he tell you how much you should weigh?.... I don't recall him ever giving me a weight.  Thanks!  Theresa

The first step is to check to see if it is covered under your plan.  Then, I would call at least 2 programs and attend their seminars.

I had mine done with Dr.s Garren & Gould at the UW Madison and I love their program.  I looked at two others before deciding to drive up there.

Topic: RE: Does anybody have a good source for vitamins?

If you are RNY, you need Calcium CITRATE.
I get a very good chewable calcium citrate, Vitamin D & magnesium from www.vitacost.com.

I take 8 of these each day, so they need to be affordable.  They are $ 9.99 per bottle of 120.
Each 4 tablets contain 1000 mg. of calcium citrate, 400 IU of Vitamin D & 500 mg of magnesium.

I actually get a lot of my vitamins from them.  The prices can't be beat.  It takes about a week to get an order.

Topic: RU in BayView and/or Belong to Bally's?

Hello.  Wondering if anyone of you live in/near BayView?  I go to Bally's in Cudahy and would love to meet some people in my area and/or have a Bally's workout partner.

I had RNY on 12/15/2009 and would like to lose approximately 125 lbs.

Thanks in advance!

Topic: RE: Insurance Help
If it is written in the book then chances are you will not be able to get them to cover it. Cash option is the only other way and for RNY with a bmi around 39ish cost 20k at Elmbrook hospital. The higher the bmi the more the surgery cost. I would ask this question on the main board probably get more responces.

My insurance is pretty clear that it does not cover Obesity issues. Is it possible to  appeal this? Waht is the process? Any advise would be appreciated.

Topic: RE: Open Support Group in Milwaukee area? Anyone else have Duodenal Switch?
Hi Linsay, we havve an ON-LINE group, called Milawukee WLS Support Group, thru Yahoo Groups, you can join.  We used to meet once a month, but the "need" for face to face, seemed to dies, and after 7 years, no one would take the meetings over.  So now we just shat when we need each other.
Maybe I'll see you on that board.  If you have specific questions, I'll be happy to help!
