I wanted to have a party when I heard but thought that wasn't a good idea since parties involve food and I was set on new path with food... but I could have!
With a good surgeon and the will power to do what it takes, (nothing you can't do), you will be�sucessful in no time.

If you'd like to have success with the lapband (and it's a hard enough struggle even when you have a decent surgeon), choose your surgeon wisely. I still have residual pain and I had the band removed 5 years ago. I initially had surgery in 2003 and due to massive complications stemming mostly from surgeon error, had to have it removed in 2005.

yes still there in the lower level take the elevator down 1 floor to almost the end of the hall.
How do you like Zumba class where do you take it at? I belong to Bally's in Cudahy and live on the south side of Milwaukee not far from downtown Milwaukee. Just south of the old allen bradly clock tower.

I've never been to the support meetings so I don't think we've met before. I'll try to make it to the 6/16 one, I usually have Zumba classes that night and hate to miss them but I really need to get a handle on this thing too. Are they in the Heart Center building at Sinai?

You need to come to the support group there are others who had the band done. Not everyone has had the RNY. I know the band isn't as successful as the RNY. They can share there experience with you but you need to come to the group. Next one is is on June 16th at 6 pm. The speaker will be on plastic surgery who is MD. Then we break into groups to talk.
Have I met you at the support meetings before? I been going since last summer.

Congrats on your success with the RNY!!! I have not gone to the support group meetings because I had heard that most of the people that go have had the RNY and not too many banders go. I'm going back for another fill next week so I'm going to ask them if they can have a bander get in touch with me. Thanks for your response though and continued best of luck to you!!!!! You look awesome!

I had the RNY by Dr Chua 10 months ago which would of been July 28th, I live on the south side of Milwaukee and go to Bally's in cudahy. I have been successful with the RNY and lost total of 160 lbs so far. The last 20 to 30 lbs seems really hard for me but I am determine to lose it with all the exercise I am doing 7 days a week. Have you gone to any of the support meetings?

On January 31, 2008, my life started to change. That was the day I went to see Dr. Manfred Chaing at Bariatric Institute of Wisconsin for my consult for WLS.
I originally wanted the Band but at a BMI of 64, he strongly recommended against it. He presented both the RNY and DS but for a lot of different reasons, I went with RNY and the main reason for that was because I was a sugar addict and the threat of dumping keeps me away from excess sugar.
When all was said and done, the only regret is that I didn't do this long ago. I owe Dr. Chaing my life. Their staff (Megan, Lynn, Kris, Colleen, Darlene, Jaime and now Silvana) are all awesome and are willing to help in any way they can. All you have to do is ask.
