Good Luck....I just met with Elieen myself.....Im farther ahead in the process than I thought.....I just need my psych eval which is schedule for WED and the rest of the paperwork from my primary.....and also should be ready to proceed with WPS. Then the wait....urhgggg.

Hi!
I had RNY on 12/2010 with Dr Joe Regan. The office staff are great and really helped make the whole process easy. Their Center of Excellence program is well run and my insurance (Humana) approved the 1st time submitted. I was very surprised, as my BMI was just at 40..."luckily", I have sleep apnea as well as hypertension, so that made it easy.

Hi Doreen,
The same exact thing happened to me last week. I was losing little by little, then the weight loss completely stopped!!! I was really concerned, then - all of a sudden, the weight started to inch off gain!!! I am 5 weeks post-op and have lost 33lbs...
Hang in there, this really does work and u r doing great!!

Topic: Looking for a Support Group to attend - live in West Bend area

Well, I attended a support group meeting in Menomonee Falls on 1/18/11 because I had my RNY by Dr. Prewitt. I have attended a few here and there and found it was nice being around people who understand and can at times give you advise. It was announced at the meeting that this particular support group was going on hiatus after March due to lack of interest. Yes, there were not many people there and the room has never really been full when I have gone. They are encouraging us to go the the Sinai support group in Milwaukee which I believe is where Dr. Chua does his surgeries. Is there anyone out there that currently goes to that group and would suggest I visit? I am finding I am in need of support and peers as I am almost 9 months post op and struggling to lose those last 20 lbs I so desperately want to lose. Thanks everyone.

no green light yet. Elaine has my insurance information and I am hoping it gets submitted to the insurance company this week. It can take up to 3 weeks for them to reply.

I will be having mine at St Micheals in stevens point. I have a friend that had hers done at marshfield and she was thrilled with the results. She also attends a support group there and considers them all her new friends and leans on them with problems. Good luck.

Thanks Lori! :) I'm thinking of putting some purple streaks in it next. I'll be Rainbow Brite by the time the year is over! lololol

I LOVED the support group. Thank you and everyone else for making me feel so warm and welcome! I will DEFINITELY be back for sure! I want to check out the other ones at ThedaClark as well.

2 week post op diet is DONE! WOOHOO!! Never thought I'd see the day when I would be so excited for fruits and veggies. :)
