Hello,
In 2001 I had a gastric staple revision to RNY at Froedert.  With a 156 lb weight loss, tummy tuck, and hard exercise I was at the top of the world until diagnosis of Thyroid disease and removal in 2009.  Since then the medical team has not been able to regulate the thyroid level and I have been gaining at a steady rate up to 51 lbs now with no stopping in site.  I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this and whom you have seen or what you are doing to get back on track.  I don't know now if another revision is in site before I blow up like a balloon and pop.  Any suggestions would be helpful.

Great Idea on the get together.  Please let's get another one going.  I hope your job is more secure now.  Just checked the WI page and am happy to see that there's a bit more action. 

I'm in the Central part of WI so it's pretty easy to head in any direction.

Yes Lois, I forget there's a WI page....I'm bookmarking it separately so I remember to check more often! Nice to see it's getting a bit busier. Perhaps we should try a WI get together someplace....the MI people are having one in August (I think) and it sounds like fun.

I am 3 years out from having a VS. I have put on some of the weight that I have taken off and would like to try and find a support group or just someone else to motivate me. I do have some problems with my back and know that is part of my problem, but not all of it. I need to have someone to go through this with.

I too am going through the process of preapproval for RNY with Dr. Georgen. It was comforting to read all the positive comments that you all posted about MBS and Dr. Georgen especially after the first post. I think no matter where you choose, there will always be horror stories. Elaine at MBS has been wonderful with helping me get approved. Hoping to hear about my appeal letter soon. Thanks everyone.
