Good for you guys! I'm so excited about my breast reduction! I should be a lot further with this, but I had my first surgeon screw things up for me! and I had to have a revision. But the first surgeon wouldn't do it so I had to find another one. But I'm just excited to have all that behind me and moving on! My Dr. said she could do it for me, however, after we were talking I think I need a lower body lift so I went to see Dr. Bonness! She's nice I like her.
Glad things are going well for you ladies!

I had a belt lipectomy by my bariatric surgeon, Dr. Chua. Even though he doesn't bill himself as a plastic's person, I am totally happy with how I look now! You can see my pictures, even the scar one a couple weeks after surgery. I'm also in a picture in my bikini with almost no visible line! I'm considering having him do my thighs too!

I did! I did! And I'm still here. Mine has all been done in Marshfield at St. Joseph's. My surgeon is Dr. Kathleen Meyer. She's with Marshfield Clinic. She did my breast reduction and panniculectomy. And *when* I get them approved, she'll do my arms and thighs.

I am starting out on my plastic journey now. I'm starting with my breast reduction. I am having mine on July 2nd with Dr. Michelle Bonness in Waukesha. My cousin had her for her reconstruction of her breasts after she had breast cancer. I really like her!
Let us know how you are doing! Keep up the awesome work!
Topic: RE: Newbie Intro - and questions re: doctors and insurance!
Hello! I'm not coming here to bash any Dr's. However, I went with Dr. Chua for a VBG..its a perment band and that was 7 yrs ago and I had major problems! I ended up having to search for another surgeon because when I went to him to inform him everything I ate I was throwing up and gaining weight back because only things that wouldn't get stuck were things I shouldn't be eatting he told me to basically work it out! I found another surgeon Dr. Brenda Satchie at St. Lukes who had to do a revision and now my pouch is 3 cm small lwhen the average size is 5cm. Just when you see him keep an open mind and you stay strong with what you want! I originally wanted the gastric bypass and he talked me out of it. And now I'm 1 yr post op and down 107 pounds! And I'm not throwing up at all! I feel much better!
Just wanted to give you heads up about Chua!

Topic: RE: Gastric Bypass v. DS
I am sorry I don't have information for you, but I know that you can find a wealth of facts here on the RnY and DS boards. Some people are "very vocal" about their surgery choice, as you may have already seen!
I first applied for RnY and then changed to Lapband... and my insurance was pretty good about the change. I just needed to put it writing... the reasons for my wanting a different surgery. It was in 2002, however, and I think insurance companies may be more strict now, for lack of a better word.
Best of luck in whatever you decide ultimately. I hope it all works out well for you.

Absolutely not. I would only go to a Bariatric Center of Excellence.
