I am having my surgery tomorrow...I've been obeste since second grade...while I've been active all my life I can't imagine running any langth race :( How do you do it? Were you a runner when you were younger? How does a person go from being out of breath just walking up a slight hill to running a race?

Topic: RE: Anyone considering surgery at Midwest Bariatric Solutions?
Hi Nicci: I'm sorry I am so late in replying to you. I haven't been on this website in awhile. I just returned from a hospital in another state where I subsequentky had to go to have surgery in an attempt to try to reverse some of this damage. The physician is VERY confident that it is surgeon's error (both directly and indirectly). I will explain when we talk. I had surgery on May 27th - returned to Wisconsin on June 1st, but ended up having to go back due to complications. Things are better now. I have a few surgeries to go yet - the next being July 31st, but that one will actually be in Oshkosh. Ironically, even though it is way out of his usual area of expertise, my OB/GYN and another General Surgeon will be doing the surgery. I am very happy about that because I trust my OB?GYN more than any Physician I have ever dealt with. Just knowing he is in the OR makes me feel better. I will be happy to share any of my information with you. I have all records from all physicians and you will be in absolute amazement when you read them, if you choose to do so. Please write to me in private and I will help you in any way I can.

Hi Sheryl, You know.. after reading your post.. I have nothing to add. Girl, you KNOW what you need to do... you just need the reassurance and the support to do it. So let me tell you.. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! Take that fear of the scale creeping upwards.. and use that as your motivation. Also remember to eat enough so your body doesn't go into starvation mode. Have you thought of food journeling while you go back to a "regular diet" That might really help you to watch your intake too. Good luck and keep us posted!!!
Topic: RE: Hello Wisconsin
welcome!! I don't know about support groups in Wausa.... try to google it? To be perfectly honest with you.. I learned a lot of information from talking to the post ops on here. We are all here to support each other. They have a forum for each forum and everyone is hugely supportive and willing to share their personal experiences. Feel free to message us with anything!

When I went to see the nutritionist for my two year follow-up she was aghast that I was on the Medifast diet. She said this was the sort of thing I needed to avoid because it did nothing to teach me how to eat and made me rely on artificial food. Well, I suppose she was right. But now I'm floundering again. Last week, I gained three pounds. And this was after starting a regular walking regimen. I walk at least 30 minutes every morning before work. I need to concentrate more on my food consumption I guess. And I've been getting progressively worse about drinking during meals. Gotta stop that. Also, I've been consuming a lot of caffeine. I need to do something. 140 is the number on the scale that scares me and Wednesday it said 138.

Topic: RE: Finding Dr. Armstrong
I had the same problem. I went to make my appointment back in 2007 and they said he was no longer there and would not say why. My wife talked to somebody in that office and they said at that time that he was out for personnel reasons. Then called a couple months later and thats when they said he was no longer there. If you find out how to reach him let me know.
BALD IS BEAUTIFUL
Topic: RE: How long for WPS approval?
I have WPS as a State Employee. My approval went very fast once the dr's office got everything sent in. I'm thinking it was a little over a week.
Good Luck. PM me if you have any questions.

Topic: RE: Support Groups?
sweet read this post and it answered my question on if there was a support group in Wausau. My surgeon is out of Point but my car would never make it monthly there to attend a support group and I really feel the need to be around others that are and will be going through what I will be..Thanks for the info...
Um any idea on why July won't have one on the 1st Monday?
Topic: Hello Wisconsin
Ok first a lil about me...My name is Avri and I will be 29 in august. I am married with no kids and LOTS of cats and dogs. I decided to do WLS a couple years ago and just started the process in December. My surgery is scheduled for July 16th and will be held in Stevens Point being done by Dr. Selwyn. I attended one support group in Point as a step towards the surgery but am afraid that I need to go to more. The problem is, is that I live in Wausau and my car would be lucky to make it to Mosinee. So attending the support group in Point is not an option because I do not know how I would get there. Even though I will not be having my surgery thru Aspirus is it possible to attend a support group in Wausau? Is there even a WLS support group here in Wausau? Help! I have no one to talk to that has or is going through what I am and I am stressing myself out thinking I am not as prepared for surgery as I should be.
