I'm just joining and hoping to learn and grow from this list as well. I just got my letter saying that the insurance has been notified as I have met all the prerequisites for the surgery now. I am waiting to hear back from the insurance, but it shouldn't be long now and I'll have my surgery hopefully in August.
Glad there are a few of us locals to talk. I'd prefer to network with those close to home if I can. Both my sisters have had the r-n-y and are doing fantastic! One is four years out and the other is one year out. Totally transformed their lives for the better. I'm hoping for the same.
I'd post a picture, but I can't figure out how to do it. I don't have a website of my own and it seems like that's what you need to post one. Is that true?

Hi Denise,
I to go to a different states board just because it is constanlty moving and you get a lot of good advice just from reading. I don't post much just do a lot of reading. Although I just might come back to the Wisconsin board. I feel that I have been having a lot of difficulty with people responding to my post when I do post. And when I go to a coffee group there always seems to be a little group that kind of sticks to themselves. Yes I am guilty of not speaking up, but when your new and like myself shy you don't always know what to say and nobody really asks you questions or really invites you into a conversation. I have even gotten the cold shoulder from somebody. This was before I had the surgery and I didn't know about the board. She asked if I was on the board and I told her no and she pretty much said oh ok and then turned around and walked away. Sorry now I am ranting. Today is really not my day. But how are you today?

How is that going for you? What month are you in? Do you see Lori Knapp? You don't always have to post about pre or post op surgery questions or concerns. It can be about anything. I just think we need to get this WI board moving a little bit :-)

I really don't have anything to post, I am in the process of seeing the dietician for 6 months for insurance approval.

Thats why I just go to the main board. I check here once in a while to see if anything is new but usually not. How are you doing? I am having the constipation problems. Have to take benefiber, stool softners and milk of magnisea. Yuck!!!! I have to take all this cause I don't like only going once a week or sometimes more than a week.

Topic: RE: Anyone know how long approval takes from Medicaid/Badgercare?
Thanks for the congrats and well wishes! I will keep my fingers crossed that you get your approval quickly too! Best wishes ~~

Congrats on your approval! I called the HMO about a week ago and was told it would take about 7-10 days for a answer back but it could even be sooner. Dr.s office is sending my packet in this week as soon as I get my weight history from another clinic I went to a few years ago. Thanks for the info. I hope I get approved as fast as you did.

How come no one posts on the Wisconsin board? I've tried to start a few threads... but that only last for so long. I know we aren't all anti social, so what gives? Are we shy? Or do we just think that no one is posting, so why start now? What can we do to get the board moving?

I have straight Badgercare (no HMO). I called them last week when my surgery pre-authorization was sent in and they said they had 20 days to approve or deny. I was approved today, it took them 6 days for my approval. I hope this information helps.
