Topic: RE: where do I go from here?
Hi Denise, I did recieve a call from Elaine this morning and she tells me that Betsy has to go thru all the paper work to make sure everything is in order, and that she would probably be finished sometime this week and then scheduling will call me to set up my date.As for the life skills class I can start it and  then fini**** after surgery. I don't have to wait til it is done before I get surgery. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get scheduled soon.

Hey Neighbor :-) Yes.. Elaine is busy, it generally took me about a day to hear back from her.  Do you have your approval in writing yet? Or was it only verbal? If it was verbal they will wait until they have it in writing. After they had my written approval it took about a day for them to schedule my surgery.. and then I was scheduled for 2 months out (Dr. was on vacation... hence why so far out).  Generally they will schedule out 4-6 weeks.   EDIT:  I just looked at your profile...and no I have not had to take the 8 week class that Dr. Groh suggested. Perhaps you will want to see if they (MW Bariatrics) want you to comlete that course first? Also, you may want to give them a call this afternoon if you don't hear from them this morning. If they are unable to schedule your surgery then ask them if they are needing any additional information.  Good luck!

I have a friend named Julie who was also at the T. Rats game for the 4th. She said even tho they lost it was a pretty good time.. family fun.  As for us... we were up in Green Bay at Celebrate Americafest.  Have you ever been there? Its a lot of differnt bands, a TON of people... it was a good time. We met up with some friends and hung out. My one friend.. she is 5 years post op, down from 400 lbs. She got extremely skinny... and then had regain to 180 lbs and she is completely content right where she is.  Anyway...I thought the weather was great....I have never been one that handles heat well.. even when I was "normal" weight  me and heat didn't agree!  So do you work in Oshkosh?

Hi.  I'm new to the forum. My husband is supposed to approved for the surgery soon.  He had to jump through so many hoops... The last one was that the psychiatrist screwed up and hubby had to for an aoda which set the surgery approval back about 6 weeks.  It's bad enough to get denied and then find out that the support person was to blame.  Hang in there.  Since you're approved generally the surgery is scheduled about 4- six weeks out.  The surgery is becoming pretty mainstream now, as more people are meeting the criteria.  We've had to wait for thtree or four days for calls to be returned.  Makes you want to scream or something. Let us know when you're scheduled, and we'll keep you in our thoughts.  Good luck,   Lonswife

I am just frustrated today, I have my approval from the insurance company, had my psyche evail, saw the dietician, have started the pre-op diet. I tried calling the Bariactric center today which yes they were busy, but I sat here all day waiting for Elaine to call me back and nothing. I don't know what else I need to do, I guess its just one of those days. Thanks for letting whine.

Too cold for the 4th of July!!!!   I froze at fireworks. I had 2 jackets on and a blanket. 55ish degrees in the evenings during the summer months is way to cold for me. I'm missing 110 plus lbs. of insulation and having a hard time adjusting. Not to mention I want to wear cute halter tops : )  I need 80's and 90's !!!!!!! P.S if you live in Oshkosh do you ever go to the free concerts on Weds. or Thurs nights ? I think it's in a park somewhere. Anyhow, go listen to Mt. Olive if you get the chance. Very good, a frind of mine is in the band.

We went to the parade in Oshkosh, then down to Columbus to some relatives for a cookout, then at night we went to a Timber Rattlers game in Appleton. They had firewords after the game. What did everyone else do? Julie

Shari... I won't be in west bend this weekend.. but I just wanted to commend you for what you do for our furry family members.  We got our pooch (Bowzer) from a rescue, and he is a wonderful, loving big teady bear of a dog. It makes me sad that he has had 5 homes before finding his forever home with us.  So many of these dogs just need the love of a family, play time, walks and attention. They are good dogs that had a rough start at life (to be honest.. sometimes I can even read about their history because I get too emotional!).  I have to encourage those as well.. to please read Shari's post and do what you can if possible!
