I think that is best. Instead of asking him why he changed his mind I would suggest that you tell him you would prefer to keep to the schedule he originally set for you (with you finishing the program after surgery). Let him know that you started setting things in motion for a surgery date in 3 weeks and if it all possible you would prefer not having to change things.

Maybe this will jog his memory and he will go with his original plan. Best of luck!!

Hmm, after smoothies and just plain (with Splenda), I had to think  for a minute.

MIddle Eastern cuisine has several variations on Yogurt Soup.  These are usually chilled and all run thru the food processor.  Consider this:

Chilled Cucumber Soup
1 large seedless cucumber, peeled
1/3 cup Fage
1 Tbsp dried Dill
1 clove Garlic
Salt and Pepper

That's a rough recipe more or less "to taste"  I've seen a few chilled soups in my magazines (Cooking Light, Eating Well, Vegetarian Times)  lately or just Google "Yogurt Soup"

What part of the state are you loacted in and who will be Lon's surgeon? I know of a few good support groups in my area if you ever want to attend depending on where you live.
The both have alot of bandsters. People who have had the Lap band.

Nice to talk face to face at support meetings. I find them fun and a wealth of knowledge.

Hi Sylvia, goo job on the 34lbs lost.  They did but me on sof diet with the protein drinks for 2 weeks, my insurance company wanted to see if I could stick with it.  I was all set to have the lapband but then the Dr and I had a heart to heart and because my blood pressure, back and knees were so bad I needed a major weight lost and the band to get the 100 or so pounds off it would have taken me about 1 year, so I'm going for my cut.  What is Bipancreatic-duodenidal?
I tried the Carnation Instant Breakfast and mixed it with skim milk and ice it was a WINNER.

I am so thrilled with this online support.  We are learning so much from others, and it's so helpful to know that there are others out there with similar experiences. Thank you.

I just can't believe this. First he tells me that he recommends it to me and that I could start it and finish after surgery, now I can't have the surgery til I go thru this, all I could do is cry, still having a hard time trying to comes to terms with it. 3 weeks! to go
I do intend on staying on my preop diet, but I also intend on calling Dr groh tomorrow to find out exactly why he change this on me now. Has anyone else gone thru this with him....

How else could you use this yogurt (i.e., if you are on pureed food).

Any ideas?  I did see Fage at Pick N Save in Oconomowoc Pabst Farms

I had RNY with a BMI of over 60 so that is why I had to be on the full liquid.

I just got home from my 2 week follow up and between June 18th (the day I started the liquid diet and today), I lost 34 pounds.  That is almost a pound a day.  I had a lot of fluids with the IVs, plus the surgical gases which bloat you up.  Additionally, I ran fevers in the hospital and could not pee on my own for 4 days.  I'm happy with the loss after all that.

I have now graduated to the puree diet for 1 week and then soft foods and then normal.  I see the nurse in 4 weeks, the dietitican the day after that, and Dr. Chaing in 2 months.

I went in with the thought of the lapband but with my BMI, he recommended the RNY which I decided to go with.  He asked me about the Bipancreatic-duodendial switch but 10% more weight loss wasn't worth the effects to me so I went with the RNY.

Can't help you make the decision between them, I had a RNY.  But I can tell you that Dr. Wasco and his clinic are great.  I ahve no complaints on them.
Good Luck
