Hi..
Talk to the financial counselor at Aurora Sinai. There are many different ways you can get help.  Payment plan, waived fees, financial assistance. Please check into it. The main Hosp. number is 219-2000. Good Luck with everything. Also, talk to Dr. Chua's office and ask them to steer you in the right direction for financial help. He has many pateints that are self pay and I'm sure not all of them had the entire amount up front.  Good Luck and please keep us posted. I also had Dr. Chua. The staff is wonderful and I'm sure they will help you.

You may want to check into the resident program at Froedert Hospital with the Medical College.  I had a breast reduction, tummy tuck, monsplasty, liposuction and thigh lift there.

I am 23 years old and weigh 480 pounds.  I only have Medicaid for insurance and I am on disability due to the fact that I had a brain tumor in fourth grade.  I have been dealing with weight my entire life, and now it's getting to the point to where it's getting hard for me to move and I get exhausted just doing little things.  Even walking around the grocery store gets me tired.  I am really scared and want to know what to do.  Please help me.

Please go directly to your Patient Assistance Center , either at the clinic, or the hospital.  Many times they will waive the fee or give a reduced rate if you're income is within certain guidlines.  Be aware that since you are self paying, when you become eligible for insurance, most every time they will not cover anything related to your weight loss surgery.   Good luck with your surgery.  Your mom is going to be so surprised at yoyur success, she may reimburse you after all!!

My name is Emilia and I am the mother of two boys, 23 & 11 and daughter 31. I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. I have tried to purchase health insurance but because of my weight no one will insurer me. Four years ago my mom agreed to pay for my surgery and right before my surgery date, she had a change of heart. I been saving ever since and I finally paid cash for the doctor and hospital. My surgery is scheduled for August 21. Today I learned that the pretesting is not part of the monies I have already paid. I need 1,500 more to pay for these test. I know without this surgery I can not survive. I would do anything for this surgery and a chance at life, if you can help me financially, please contact me at [email protected].  Thanks you and may god bless you.

I would ask your bariatric surgeon, your PCP or your gyn.

My breasts are big (I haven't lost as much weight as you have yet and have a ways to go) and a nurse at the clinic where I was getting a mammogram recommended one to me once as well.

It also depends on your insurance

Hi Cindy,

Your post reminded me of when your surgery is coming up.

The liquid will be difficult and I kept telling myself to "keep my eye on the prize."  That didn't elimate the head hunger though.

Hope to see you on the 13th.

Have a blast! Don't worry about the food too much. If you're going with a group, switch off and have one person buy and everyone try! That way you can sample a bunch without the guilt or possibly sickness.  I was so bummed to see the news that the turey leg was considered the unhealthiest of the fair!  There's just something fun about walking around with a big old leg in your fist!  Wish I were there!  Since fracturing my fibula, I added a broken toe to it all this morning, so I'm not doing much walking at all!  I'm am getting some pretty impressive arm pit muscles from the crutches!

Topic: WI State Fair
Hi All..
We're going to the state fair tomorrow. I use to love going and eating my through it. A little here and a little there. All my favorites, maple sundeas, cheese curds, Saz's barbecue snadwich. Now I'm wondering what I'll be eating tomorrow. Should be interesting. I know I'll find something but sometimes new foods out in public worry me. Never know how it will efect me and if I'll become sick.
Any suggestions to good food findings at the fair this year for us post ops?
Thanks
Shari

I have lost more than a 100 lbs since my surgery but my breast are still too big for me. I need a reduction. My back hurts like crazy and I am tired of going to the chiropractor. Does anyone know of a good plastci surgeon in Milwaukee, Oshkosh or Green bay area? Let me know!

Thanks
Yolanda
