Topic: Surgery Finally!!!
Hello Everyone!!!

My computer hard drive crashed months ago. So I am sitting at my sisters typing this in.
Just to let everyone know I did finally have my surgery July 7. I had about 7 surgeries rolled into one
1. The tried the endoluminal thing that did not work ~~ going down my throat to fix stomach for new surgery.
2. Then they tried lap ~~ couldn't go that way either.
3. So finally they cut me open ~~
Then they tried to fix the old staple line couldn't do that either so they finally had to remove that part of the stomach

I had lots of scar tissue and adhesions which they removed plus they had to remove a hernia that was between fat layers.

But ALL IS NOW GREAT and I am on the losers bench. The first month after surgery I lost 20 lbs then hit a stall this week finally I lost 3 more pounds so I am off of that plateau.

I have been realized to start excersing and swimming now so here we go!!!

I am also on vacation (seeing kids and grandkids) for the next 3 weeks so my posting will be hit and miss till I get back home and get my computer back.

Thanks all for hanging in with me.

Topic: Any FP or Shrink, endo. refferals for WI, have Aurora insurance?
I am looking to get a Family Practice doctor, and shrink in WI that have dealt with WLS patients.  I have Aurora insurance.  I am also in need of a endriocronoligist doctor who has expiernce with PCOS Polysystic Ovarian Syndrome.  I find my health is getting way out of wack with PCOS and it's effecting my mentally/emotionally/physically.

I really need to find some good doctors and I am not having much luck.  Any suggestions is appreciated.

Thanks!

Topic: RE: UW Madison Bariatric Program

I had surgery with Dr. Garren. I have found the program to be amazingly thorough! As i have listened to others on this board, I have been amazed at how much info we got and how little others seem to get. I felt the staff and the hospital (Meriter) were marvelous. I have only good things to say about the program. I am also in health care and am very fussy about getting good care.

You are very wise to have done as much research as you obviosly did and you are wise to be going elsewhere.  I wish I would have done more research before I jumped into it.  You will find a night and day difference once you get to one of the other clinincs - both in surgeons and the entire experience.  I know I did.  Once I got to this much larger facility (one of the largest in the country) they pinpointed the problem in a matter of 48 hours.  They let me know it would not be easy to correct, but they immediately got to work on correcting it.  I just had my 5th surgery this past Thursday since Kevin Wasco and I have 2 more to go.  Then things will be in great shape.  Let me know how you proceed.  I'm so happy you didn't fall into the Kevin Wasco trap - he is a smooth talker.  He would probably do well as a used car salesman.  At least he couldn't put people's lives in danger that way.  Good Luck to you.

Sorry you had such a difficult time, I hope everything goes well for you from now on. I am actually glad that I don't need the surgery anymore. Thanks for your story. I will look for the article in the paper.
