Topic: pre approved for pannectomy
I had posted a few months ago and asked if anyone had Dr Georgon do a pannectomy, but apparently know one answered. I am approved and having mine done on May 1st so excited and scared at the same time.
Topic: RE: WLS friendly doctors in Milwaukee?
Thank you Tri_harder. I'll go search through the Tricare list of physicians and see what they have to say. I'm not at all against going outside of plan though to get a good doctor. My current physician is actually an NP who practices at a low cost clinic and is the best I've come across so far. They are happy to bill my insurance too! LOL
We love Eugene and I have run a 5K there and hope to get one more in before we leave here!

Topic: RE: any one have Dr Georgen take off excess skin and fat?
I saw Dr Georgen on Feb 6th, he submitted to my insurance but I have not heard anything yet, not sure if thats good or bad. He did a great job with my bypass and I like him very much. He is not a board cetified plastic surgeon but does do the TT but does not save the belly button. If I dont get approved then he said they would talk about out of pocket aand said it would be much cheaper than going to a plastic surgeon. I had UHC when I had my bypass and was approved within 6 weeks of submitting. Now I have ChampVA through my husband who is a 100% disable veteran. Good Luck and keep me posted, Deb

I know this post is pretty old now, but I would ove to know what you found out about insurance coverage... I have Dr. Georgen as well, but have not had the surgery yet... still waiting on insurance approval.
I have badgercare with UHC as my HMO. I had a breast reduction approved last year and I will be needing a tummy tuck after the WLS. I used Dr Dieburg for my BR and he did a phenomenol job. He is with Bellin in GB and does TTs as well... I think the cost is between 4-6k for a TT

Hi Carol,
If I were in your situation, I would probably find a WLS surgeon and then use them as a reference for a good GP. My surgeon is awesome...Dr. Thomas Chua in Milwaukee.
I live 2.5+ hours from Milwaukee, and this winter when I was needing some bladder resuspension done I wasn't sure I wanted to use the doctors from around where I live. I made an appt with Dr. Chua and discussed who he would suggest I go with. Unfortunately my insurance didn't cover the docs he suggested, but they did cover my appt with Dr. Chua as a follow up.
I hope your relocation goes well. I enjoy Milwaukee, having lived there until I was 30. Now 20 years later, I really miss it and wish we'd move back or at least closer again!
Best wishes!

Topic: WLS friendly doctors in Milwaukee?
I'm quite a few years out with no problems with my WLS but I'm on the hunt for a GP or a family doc who actually knows about WLS. We are transferring from Coos Bay, Oregon at the end of June/beginnig of July. I'm sure they will try and assign me to someone but when they did that here I spent most of my appointments explaining WLS to my doctor. I don't want to do that again! It took me 2 years to find a doctor (and file paperwork etc.) who knew that it was OK that I needed labs, and that the perscription Vit. D doesn't work. LOL
I don't need a WLS surgeon as far as I can tell. I'm happy, healthy and basically at goal weight. I run 30 35 miles a week and just need someone to see me for general stuff, ie a flu shot every year and my labs.

Topic: Mini-meals made easy
*Disclaimer....yes, I am a Pampered Chef Consultant*
I am finding it easier to stay on course when I feel like I've got a special meal in front of me instead of 'my 3oz of whatever hits the plate'.
I've been making mini-meatloaves in my new individual brownie pan. I also use it for mini egg bakes too.
The mini muffin pan works great also for egg bites (such as those found on theworldaccordingtoeggface's website.
Just because we have had bariatric surgery doesn't mean that we have to stop enjoying cooking. The right tools make the enjoyment even better. Let me help you see how Pampered Chef items can help you stick to your food plan!
Individual orders, catalog parties, cooking shows....just contact me. Thanks!
