There is a used fitness equipment store called 2nd Wind.  They have several in WI
go to their website 2ndwindexercise.com

Also, as a long shot--- you might try your county free-cycle forum.  If you go to freecycle.org and sign up.
note*** freecycle is like a controlled craig's list - people can list items they have to give away or things they are looking for.  It is to keep usable items out of the landfills.  Might be worth a try.

Good Luck!!

You might want to call some of the smaller, non-commercial bike shops that take trade-in's. In Sheboygan, we have Johnnie's Bike Shop, and the owner is fantastic!  She actually called me up out of the blue, and asked if I was the really tall gal that does triathlons and was featured in the newspaper 4 months earlier! She remembered me and hooked me up with an $800 trade in bike for only $150!  It seems the smaller, "Mom and Pop" places are good for that. Try out some recumbants first, though.  I found that they killed my back! Good luck!

Topic: Recumbent Bike
Well, today the snow flew over Lake Winnebago. Which means winter is here. Me and the dog do not go out unless it is absolutely necessary. And there are times I have to pitch her outside to go "potty" She likes sleeping on the couch on my heating pad or on my bed under the covers.

Before this is all over she will be needing WLS
Anyway I want to get a recumbent bike any suggestions?? Anyone know where to get a used one??

I AM WAITING FOR INSURANCE APPROVAL.  I AM FROM WISCONSIN AND HAVE UMR INSURANCE (AURORA) .  ANYBODY FAMILIAR WITH THIS INSURANCE AS FAR AS APPROVAL OR DENIALS WITH ROUX-EN-Y SURGERY?

Hi Shari

Go on the Mcdonald's nutritiion site and click on McCafe.

If you order with nonfat and sf vanilla, it is basically coffee, skim milk and sf vanilla syrup.  You will get the milk protein with additional flavor.  They have lattes and cappucino (sp?)

Starbucks is better because they have more sf syrups and you can add protein powder (addtl 5 gms protein) for 50 cents.

I like the McCafe's because you can pick them up on the run where there are no Starbucks.  You can see the calorie/protein breakdown on all of Mickey D's items.

Hi all..
Kohl's is great when they have their clearance racks and alot of size 6's left : ) I have never been able to shop clearance before. I bought a cart full of summer clothes about 3 weeks ago and spend under $100. I got sun dresses and capris' for under  $4 bucks. There were so many size 6's left to choose from I felt so lucky. In the past I never could find anything  clearance in the 22/24 size. My how life has changed for me for us!

Hi Denise...Yes I know about Gordman's. My daughter loves loves that store. The discounts at Kohl's are awesome! I am going to the Christmas party too. I WILL be at the support group on Wed Nov 19th. I see Dustin every 8 weeks. My next appt with Dustin is Sat Jan 17th at 9:30am. I get so much out of his exercises. I can't believe that I am in a size 10 myself. I still wear some 12 and 14 with a belt of course cause I don't want to buy all new yet. I think I have a ways to go with my weight loss yet anyway. :) Talk to you soon. Have a great weekend! :)

Debbie!!!!  OMIGOSH... a 10????  You rock girl! That is awesome!   Um.. Dustin huh? Um... errr... welll.. I haven't exactly seen him since my 6 week post op.  I know when I do go in that I'll probably be due for a tongue lashing... deservedly so.

I fully intend on going to the Xmas gathering. Thanks for reminding me.. I have to RSVP my acceptance.  I hope to make it to the next support grp.. wait.. is that this next week? Yup... the 19th... and I have off work!  Woooo.  My 2nd job is at Gordmans.. dunno if you are familiar with it.. but it is just like Kohls.  You can't go wrong with the employee discount  :-)

I will have to be sure to go to the meeting early enough to get a chair... that has become quite a busy meeting to attend!  You know.. the first time I went to that meeting was for my pre op required meeting and there was only 8 of us there!

Ok.. time fo rme to drop my kiddo's off at school.  See you soon!!

Um...... exercise? Whats that?   hehe.  Actually I'm working all he time too.  I work full time at my regular job, then I picked up a part time seasonal job to help get me through the christmas crunch. ... sooo when I do have off, the last thing on my mind is exercise.  When did you finally  have your surgery?  I have gone to all meetings except for this last one. I go on Wed night at AMC.  I even checked out the clothing exchange one time. Interesting.   As for my progress. thanks... I have really slowed down in the last 2 months. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaallllllllllll slowed down.  I lost 10 lbs last month.. and 5 lbs this month.... thus far a total of 91.  Went from a size 26 to a size loose 18.  You should let me know when you do decide that you are going to make it to a meeting, If my work schedule permits, I would love to meet you!

WOW....You are doing so good! You look great! I have lost 80# since my highest weight in June of 2007. I have 2 jobs but no little kids at home just a 17yr old and a husband so I can make time for an hour of exercise everyday. I work full-time(40hours) and a part-time job at Kohl's(20hours max). Just had an appt with Dustin(exercise guy) and he said I am doing great! I am down to 33% body fat since surgery. I went from a 20/22 size pants to a current size 10 and somedays those feel a little loose. :)

Just keep doing what your doing and you will get to your goal.
P.S....Are you going to the Bariatric Christmas party? See you at support group! :)
