Congratulations! You are in excellent hands. My attorney's husband just had surgery done by him and he was absolutely wonderful!!!! He shopped around and went to a lot of initial seminars, and decided he was the best. I agreed - I attended some of the seminars with him because I wanted to lead him in the right direction. He is about 4 weeks out of surgery and doing great. When Dr Gould spoke, you could just feel the confidence and the kindness in his voice. I'm very happy for you.

I'm thinking about Golden Corral or Kodiak Jacks. i'm leaning toward the Corral because it has both fried chicken and thick steaks - let's not forget homemade mashed potatoes. I'm thinking this is a bad subject for me right now. LOL

I realize this is kind of a no-no, but did you go out before your surgery to have one big, delicious last meal? I'm still pre-op and was thinking about some of the places I'd like to go that I know I won't be able to have 'til quite some time after the surgery.
Any suggestions?

Hi Carmen,
150 was my goal to but it kept coming off. Not in a bad way I guess it's my body saying you still have fat to lose. Then one day it just stopped. Hit a magic healthy number and there I stayed.
I fluctuate between 130-133 but this weekend i actually weighed in at 129. i was shocked. Not sure whey I started to lose a little again. I have been working out alot so that may have something to do with it.
Your body will decide for you. If you have more to lose it will until you hit the point where you should be. My goal was to weigh a healthy 140-150 and wear a comfortable sz. 10-12 i also wore a 22/24 prior to surgey.
I had no idea I'd ever be wearing a sz. 6 jeans ( Cute jeans on a 45 year old I might add )
Don't worry your body will say when enough is enough. Sounds like you're right on track. Keep it up and congratulations!!!!

Topic: RE: Anybody have a DS with a WI doctor?
I am trying to get approved for a DS with Dr. Engstrand at the Bariatric Institute of Wisconsin in Brookfield. Another member named Chelle had a DS with him, too. There are only a couple of others on this board who I have seen. There is someone named Inkfreak who has had a DS with Dr. Thomas Chua in Milwaukee (I think).
A great website to go to is dsfacts.com. There are no DS surgeons listed in WI, though. The closest ones are Prachand or Alverdy in Chicago, IL.
Hope this helps!

I'm from Milwaukee originally & now live in ND. Want a DS & may be willing to pay for it, depending on costs. I've looked at the bariatric surgeon's webpage on this site in WI, but want to know if anyone here has had the DS by a WI surgeon
Thanks!

I had my gastric bypass 08/04/2008 at Colombia's Dr. Regan did my surgery. My primary Dr had been wanting me to have this done over five years ago, if I know then what I know now I would have done this a long time ago. I don't know Dr. Chua but know some others that have had the band or the bypass done by him and they love him. I know that they are working on a study where they will implant a balloon in the stomach. Good luck you will do fine.

Shari when you got to the 133 how did you stop losing, I'm down to a size 14 from a 22, five months out, I want to get to 150 or size 12 and then stop.
