Topic: RE: OT Casino
There is the HoChunck (sp?) Casino just outside of the Dells. So that would be just about halfway. I know they have a huge hotel and casino.
Good luck and happy gambling!

Typically it is bariatric patients. The class is for anyone, not just bariatric patients. I'm not sure if it is just a Dean Care thing. You would have to call them to see if they accept other forms of insurance. The number for the Comprehensive Weight Management Program is 800-808-1190. They are really nice people. They have many different programs for weight management, not just surgery. Hope this helps.

so is that something they set up specifically for the bariatric patients to be in complience or are there other people in the class who have no intention of having the surgery?

Thanks for your suggestions! I guess those are around the Milwaukee area? I don't get up there too often, but if I do I will definitely try them.

The SMA's are an hour and a half long. It is a class that you attend and there will be about 10 people in the class. You are all called out individually where you will be weighed, have your BP checked, talk with the nurse about your meds and see the doctor to discuss your progress.
During the class, they have a speaker or person who leads the class. They talk about nutrition, how to increase your fruits and veggies, how to increase exercise, and all different aspects of how to deal with eating and emotions.
It has been very helpful for me. I know they have different SMA's at the East and West Clinics in Madison. They have a lot of great information and I know for sure I am meeting the insurance company's requirement.
If you have any other questions, just let me know. Good luck on your journey!

I have never heard of SMA, that sound neat. Is that set up with a nutritionist that Dr Sunby works with?
I am going to my physician, just one appt so far, but kind of discouraging because she didnt know what she was to do for me at these medically supervised diet appts, so I joined weigh****chers too. Hoping that will back up the documentation. Hope it all works out in my favor in the end.

it too her about 6 months to get all the appts in (labs etc)
she said her ins didnt even have to the the supervised diet requirement and it took her that long.
but her bmi was 35 and I think she had a few more hoops to jump through
