That is awesome!!!  I wish I could say I was at goal weight- but I am working on that!!  Well today I'm going to call your doctor and see if he will see me.  I don't like the fact that I never was able to do a follow up.  I will also call about the support groups too.  Thank you so much for the info.  Did you find it hard to lose all your weight in such a short time or was it easy for you?  I never did the exercise part  ( I know bad- bad) but now I'm starting to get addicted to working out and liking it!!!  I've been going to the YMCA everyday and making the time that I go worth it.  (I hope anyway)  I saw your picture and you look real familiar!!  Do you come to Manitowoc often, have children ect?  I do work outside the home a couple nights a week- we have 4 daughters and two are still young and not in school  yet so I usually  work  thur-sat but flexible.  Well I better get a moving-  thanks for responding and keep up the good work!!!!

Have a great day and I look forward to talking with you,
Melissa

I pour mine over a lot of ice and sip on them thoughout the day as the ice melts it takes away some of the thickness. I also mix them with sugarfree jello. I love those bullets so convient, and nice to have a change from the shakes. I hope this helps.

Hi Melissa.....I just got back from my 9 mos check up. Doc says I am doing great! I have met there goal. I told doc that I would like to lose another 10# to be "normal". Doc thinks I can do it by my 1 yr anniversary. Doc says I just need to be able to maintain the weight and that is the most important so I might get those 10# off but my body may decide that is too much and gain some back till it decides I am done. I am happy at where I am right now but feel as though I need to have another goal to shoot for otherwise I might relax to much if you know what I mean! :)

We also talked about plastics. Doc gave me some referrals and I will start to research to see what is BEST for ME!

Hi Melissa....I go to support group in Appleton every 3rd Wednesday of the month. So the next one is on the 18th but they do have other days of the month that they have support groups. If you are interested we can ride together or I can tell you what other days the meetings are on. The staff at Theda Clark are awesome. They are circle of excellence hospitals and doctors. If you want the number to Midwest Bariatrics at Theda Clark I can give you that too and then you can see if they will do follow ups with you.

I am at doctors goal but I would like to lose another 10# to be at a normal weight and BMI. In fact I am on my way to Theda Clark right now for my 9 month check up. I will let you know how that goes but I expect doc will be very happy with me! :)

I would love to me you and encourage each other in this journey of a healthier lifestyle! Do you work outside the home? Where and what times do you work? We could set up a meeting time if you want too.

Hugs;Debbie

Hi Debbie-  My name is Melissa and I had RNY in Aug 06.  We moved here from Michigan but originally from Texas.  I had my surgery in Michigan and I was never able to do follow up with my doctors/ support groups ect.  ( Long story)   I've lost just under 100 and have staled.  I did start working out everyday at the YMCA so hopefully I'll get back to losing again.  I hav 60 more pounds to lose to be my ideal weight but I'd be happy with 40.  Well anyway thanks for responding it's nice to know that I'm not alone here in Manitowoc!!!
Have a great day!!!

I certainly will keep you in my prayers.

The only suggestion I could give you is that there is no need to worry about something that you can not change.  You have a body that you have worked hard to take ownership of through your hard work and investment.  Taking weight off is something that you and medical science did together.

Just like with your weight, you and medical science will work together to oversome this issue.  Think positive thoughts (always hard, but try).  Each of us are born with a plan that we discover more of as each day passes.

Also, do not dwell on your genetics.  Find a thought that makes you smile and when you find yourself worrying, replace it with happy thoughts!

I can tell you this. My uncle was the same age you are with a pacemaker... he is still able to work out and do all the same things he loves... just without any heart episoids! Hope for the best!

Good Luck.
