Does anyone have any experience with Dr. Rahman?  He was previously affiliated with  the Marshfield Clinic and  Dr. Timothy Wengert.  TIA

Topic: RE: How much weight do you lose in 6 months pre op?
Wow you only lost 7 lbs with meridia? Well I have to take a month off phentermine and he put me on TENUATE for a month then I will be put back on the phentermine. He requires to take a break from phentermine every 3 to 4 months. He either gives nothing or will give you this other med. Never heard of it before. But i am waiting for a prior auth for it. They had to do it with the phentermine but now have to cancel that one and then next month do a new prior auth for phentermine.

Has anyone try the tenuate? I like the phentermine but i heard it can poop out on you as well when you been taking longer than 3 months.

I don't think that losing too much weight will negatively effect your getting the Gastric Bypass. I think they (the insurance company) just wants to know what weight you started at.

I went on Meridia for my 6 month diet and only lost around 7 pounds!

Good luck!

I'm feeling pretty good! I lost 10 pounds on the pre-op diet 285 to 275. Now I am at 250.5! I'm not sure if my scale is right, but I will find out on Monday at my 6 week follow up appt.

How are you feeling?

Take care,
Jules

Congrats on your date. The time will go by fast.  I had about 4 weeks between time of approval and surgery date.  Best of luck.

Topic: RE: Anyone had surgery at Froedtert with Dr. Wallace??
Good Morning, Dr. Wallace performed my surgery on 4/21/09 and I have no complaints.  I do not recall seeing which type of surgery you are having.  I had lapband and my gallbladder removed. I was on pain meds for 24 hours and then I went home.  Other than a minor complication from not taking my reflux medicine I have no complaints. Dr. Wallace visited me more times than I remember.  It seem like someone from his staff was always coming by.  I felt the nursing staff as a whole was great.  They came right away and I can honestly say that I saw one at least every hour or so.  Even with the hiccup in my recovery which required me to be readmitted for 2 days, the second stay was just as great.  Dr. Wallace does seem gruff but he genuinely cares for his patients.   When I phoned after hours with my issue, the oncall resident responded immediately and when I arrived at the hospital, thinks moved pretty quickly to get me readmitted and hooked to an IV.  I wish you the best and know that under Dr. Wallace's care you will be fine.  Contact me if you have any further questions.
