Thanks for the tips!  Definitely going to try less liquid.  I usually add some DaVinci if it isn't flavorful enough.. never thought of  adding another scoop.. duh... :o)

I'll check out your other video blogs.  I like the format - easy to read and easy to navigate.  Good for us old folks!

Thanks again,
Maurie

Thanks!

If you watch the video of my last weight update... you'll see how funny I can be :).

I love my bullet style blender.  It's a MUST have I believe. I use it every single day!

I had to cut back the liquid a lot (I used to use 8 ounces) otherwise it's really runny and you don't get as much of the actual flavoring.  Your other option is to use more protein powder.  I've done that when I've been low for protein/calories on the day.

Your welcome for the demo!

If you wouldn't mind humoring me... I just put that website up... what do you think of the format?

Mike - you are funny!  I love your "mad camera skills"!  LOL!

I use a blender like yours, but it's from wally world, put in 8 oz of FF milk, my protein, blend it a little, add my ice pulse blend it a few times and tada - protein shake  - your's looks thicker and creamier than mine, mine gets a little foamy and the ice chips float to the top.  I might have to try it with less water.

Thanks for the demo...

I use a bullet blender to make my protein shakes. I add 4-5 ounces of water to the blender cup, then I add my protein powder, then I add in some ice.  A quick shake and I put it on the base.

It takes about 1-2 minutes for the protein to blend.  After I take it off the blender and add a ring so I can drink it right from my blender cup, or I pour it into another glass.

I have found that having my protein drinks ICE cold are the way to have them!

My favorite Protein powders are the BSN Lean Desert Protein and the Sytntha-6 brand.

It's been such a gorgeous summer I've been trying to walk on the sidewalk by the bea*****enosha a couple times a week.  Otherwise, I dance with my kids while playing Rock Band and I use my Wii and play Wii Fit a couple times a week.  It's totally cheesy, but it works and it's pretty fun.

Thank you Sandi,

I have been seeing a diatician for 3 months now and it is not working. I am killing myself working out for 2 hours everyday. I have not lost a pound. So now I have made the steps to start the process. I have talked to my insurance and don't have to do a diet for 6 months. I just have to take their over the phone classes. I have no idea what is instore for me from here on out.

When I was taking Taekwondo, I was very frustrated because I wasn't losing any weight.  What I would suggest is also measuring inches, like around waist, hips, thigh, etc.  I never lost more than 10 pounds in the several years I did martial arts, but I did lose a ton of inches, and I did feel a lot better, my flexibility was a lot better, and my stamina was greatly improved.  It's not just about the weight, it's about your whole health, too. :)  Hang in there with the exercise, though--it'll make you healthier for the surgery itself, recovery easier, and we all need to be exercising before and after the surgery anyway.  :)

Hi all!  I've been so swamped this summer with vacation, moving my grandma from Detroit to Arkansas, writing a business plan, and a visit from my mother that it hasn't been funny, and I've missed hearing all the exciting news from all of you.  I'm so glad to read that so many of you are doing so well.  :)

My exciting news--my case goes before the team today, and I hope it gets approved and I hear from Dr. Chua's office about a surgery date very soon!
