Topic: RE: Working on insurance approval
I'm also waiting on insurance final approval. Just had echo/stress test today. The dubutomine version. I didn't like the way it made me feel and found myself exhausted and needed a nap before going back to work. But dr. naum and his tech and nurses were great. Even though I wasn't comfortable with the heart racing. I passed with flying colors, My dad had 5 way bypass at 47 and I am 44 now. I was sure there would be a problem. But as I got more uncomfortable with the strangeness they were very comforting and new all was still looking great, so it made it easier.

I need to have insurance approval soon so that I can have it done and be back to work by Nov 16th if at all possible. Too much happening and it would be very hard on those left at work with others taking time off then too and some of them are not changable. I have a desk job and hoping 1-3 weeks out since surgery.

I will pray for you to get your approval soon. Pray for me too!

The meeting is held across the street from Aurora Siani hospital at the heart center. There is valet parking there as well. You go thru the front doors to the lower level. Take the elevator to the lower level. There is another lady getting a revission to rny. She had a rny in 2000 and gain the weight back so she still getting another rny but more of the intenstines bypass. She had 150 last time which is what I had done. I am doing ok with mine. Have some vomiting issues. One day I can eat certain food the next day I can't comes up on me. I start my weight loss journey on Jan 2009 weighing in at 317.5 at the tiem of surgery I was down to 267.5 and today I weigh in at 234.4 on  my scale. I see Dr Chua assistant today so see what I weigh on there scale. I notice the weight loss has slow down and alot of plateaus. I had my surgery on July 28th.

So why are you chosing the ds? Have you thought about the rny?

I would love to attend where is going to be held? I am just waiting for my appt with Dr Chua I have completed all my appointments. The waiting is driving me crazy. Dr Chua was my surgeon in 2003 for Lap- band surgeon. Since my time is getting close I am a little nervous I have read everything about the DS surgery I still think it is the right choice for me. How are things working out with you and your recovery?

Topic: RE: I Have A Question About Exercising
If you are new to exercise, you will need to build up slowly.  I think your muscles are tired when your legs feel like jello.  It has also been recommended to have a small protein snack before exercising and a small carb, like fruit, snack after.

Don't stop exercising.  I am so much smaller at my current weight that I was 12 # thinner previously.  I think it is all d/t exercising.  I have faithfully exercised 4-5 X week, increasing the length of my workout and intensity about every two weeks.  Exercise now needs to become a part of our life.

Good luck on your WLS journey.

Daisy, I'm so sorry to hear that you are not getting the results you need.  I suggest you call Dr. Chua's office. I'm not sure what can be done, but I do know that he has injected something into the tissues of the hole to close it up more, especially when it gets stretched or is too large. You may qualify for this. That would give you the restriction you need. You're obviously not getting the personal attention you need from your doctor, so it's time to give someone else a try.  The surgery is a tool and it still comes down to doing it ourselves, but it shouldn't be this hard for you. Something more needs to be done to help you. Let me know if there is anything I can do.  Lois
