Topic: I DID IT! The race is over and I survived!
I finished the half marathon and am alive to tell about it! I did a little better than I expected, but didn't push myself extremely hard either. Been having problems staying hydrated, and since I can't drink much while running without getting sick, I thought it best to take it easier and be safe. It was an amazing feeling to finish some thing like this! Not sure if I'll do another one, but it's one more under my belt! I have a couple pic's posted now of the race, so take a peek!

Topic: My first Half Marathon in less than 24 hours!!!
So, tomorrow at this time I'll be lining up for my very first half marathon. My friends and husband tell me "Most people will drive to go 13 miles!" I feel kinda nuts for doing it, but had a great 5 mile run yesterday to boost my confidence. If the weather and my health can hold out for one more day, I hope to be crossing the finish line in 2-1/2 to 3 hours. I'll post after I'm done, hopefully with a picture of me crossing the finish line upright and not on a gurney!

The dobutamine test is something else! I prefered better than the treadmill stress test (no physically able). You will do fine, Ive had them twice. Best wishes.

Thanks for the info. Sorry to hear your story. I can only say keep on keeping on. I think others are more qualified to offer suggestions, I am just starting this trip. The thing I sense in your story is one of impending doom and I think you may see it as failure. While I do not enjoy being overweight, really I am happy with 99.9% of things going on in my life. Hopefully, you can find the 99.9% because the overweight part is only .1% of who most of use are.
