I had the lap band in 2003 and never got under 200 pounds. I am getting a revision to Doudenal Switch on Nov 4. 2009. My heaviest weight with before lap band was 263 pounds I managed to lose 63 pounds and keep it off for 6yrs. I got tired of throwing up sometimes the band would be so tight I would throw up water. My port was dislodged had to have surgery to repair that sucked. About last November I noticed I had no restriction at all went to have a fill they could not find my port. I ended up coming back three times for a fill with no success they scheduled me to have ultrasound my port was once again dislodged. Instead of getting the port repositioned and having a fill I decided I needed something that was going to work. I am currently 265 2 pounds heavier than when I had lap band. I know a few people who have RNY and they have all gained their weight back. The weight gain may not all be due to surgery some people don't follow the rules. It is best to really to talk to your surgeon so you can make an informed decision. Also go to all the forums and get as much information as you can about the different surgeries before choosing. Even with me following the guidlines and working out I was not able to achieve my goal weight so good luck to you.
I have a Trek bike. It is a cross between a racing bike and a cruiser. Until I got this bike, I was practicing on a thirty-year old Schwin. I can't get over how much faster the new bike is.
I think I added you as a friend. I'm not sure I did it right. I haven't been hanging around the Wisconsin site much.
I have so many questions for you... LOL! I'll be sending you a message shortly. By the way 2/26 is a great day, its my birthday!

Hi everyone,
I am looking to meet others in the area who have gone through RNY or are going through it. I will be having my surgery on 11/19.
Thanks!
Can you believe that you are a triathlete now? I wish I would have seen your post sooner. I just entered the triathlon for the first time this year. It was a blast! Didn't you think the water was cold? I just bought a new bike too. I haven't ridden a bike for 30 years. I got my help from Racine Cyclery.
I did the sidestroke too. I couldn't time my breathing with the crawl. My brother, a swim instructor, said the sidestroke was the first racing stroke.

Last week we released two major updates. First was the public release of OH Groups where any ObesityHelp member can now create their own Group. Second was the addition of Activity Tracking to Health Tracker, which provides a robust and easy to use tool to track and monitor your exercise and activity. Today we have added My Meals and an Activity vs. Weight Loss Report to Health Tracker.
My MealsMy Meals allows you to group and store multiple food and beverage items as a custom meal that can be used over and over again. If you have meals that you eat on a regular basis, you will no longer need to log each food item individually. |
To access My Meals, go to your Health Tracker in My OH and click on the Nutrition tab. You will see My Meals listed under Nutrition.![]() |
Creating a new meal works similar to your Food Log. You can search for food items on the right and add the foods to the meal on the left. A Calorie Breakdown chart and Nutrient Summary Label are also available for each meal.![]() |
Once a meal is created you can add that meal to your Food Log from My Meals by clicking "i had this" or you can search for the meal from your Food Log.![]() |
When searching for a meal to add to your Food Log, all meals will be returned when "My Foods" is selected in search. So, to "drill down" on meals that you have created, select to only show "My Foods." When a new meal is created it may require up to 30 minutes for that meal to be indexed and become searchable.![]() |
Activity vs. Weight Loss ReportAdding to the Macronutrient and Export Reports previously available, there is now an Activity vs. Weight Loss Report. This report will allow to compare Average Time in Activity vs Weight over time, providing you with further insight into what impact physical activity as on weight loss and weight loss maintenance. In Health Tracker, click Reports and then select Activity vs. Weight Loss. |
We hope these additions to Health Track reduce the time required to log your daily food intake and makes it easier to view how physical activity impacts your weight. Create your first meal now! If you have any questions, comments or concerns about this release, please post them on the Main Message Board. |
