How do you go from eating fast to eating slow.........HELP!
Hi Jennifer,
I am still a pre-op. I am scheduled for surgery on Dec 13th. I beleive that the easiest way to go from rushing through a meal to eating slow is by practice. I starting practicing a month ago and it is not easy. I have to remind myself for slow down all of the time. I am practicing before the surgery because if I mess up now it will not hurt versus messing after the surgery.
Start trying to eat slower now. I find that I enjoy my food more when I eat slower and I do not eat as much when I eat slower.
I am not sure what you need to do for straight Title 19 but with the HMO's you need to complete the 6 months of surprivised dieting. The time passes by very quickly. Take that time to learn more about the after affects of the surgery. I have learned alot just by lurking around the board. The people here have lots of information to share.
Good luck to you.
Yolanda
This is a struggle for me still. Chewing a million times is, too. It is a problem when you only have a certain amount of time to eat lunch and you need to get all that protein in. I eat with a baby spoon if the food can be eaten by spoon. This helps me a bunch. For fork-eaten foods, I cut things in little tiny pieces and only allow myself to eat one bite at a time.
hope this helps,
Sue O.
