What a treat to read the state board and find a message for me! I've been under a lot of pressure the past year at work and ultimately, left the company I've worked for for 10 years when they outsourced the Nurse Healthline service. In the past month I left my old job, started working for a hospice the next day and amidst orientation, took a two week vacation to Colorado, Utah and Wyoming, hitting many of the National Parks.
On the WLS side, I've been maintaining at 200-210#'s off. I would love to lose another 50#'s, but felt until my life got into some semblance of normality...it wasn't going to happen. Now that things are settling down just a tad, it's back to basics. I had a sleep study scheduled for my birthday but due to unexpected business travel had to be postponed to this past week. The great news....I no longer have sleep apnea! It was actually kind of fun. I worked with most of the staff when I worked at the hospital years ago so it was like old home week. They said very few of their patients ever get off CPAP so were excited for me.
I joined the YWCA in July and have enjoyed the pool. Unfortunately I haven't been in town this past month to use it...but will start again on Monday morning. Curves alone wasn't cutting it. I'm not sure if I will like hopsice nursing, but having WLS gave me the option of doing something other than a desk job or going on disability. It was the best decision I ever made...and the severance package from leaving my old job helped to pay off the last of my medical loans. Not a bad deal.
