Support Groups in Northeast WISC?

Hello -- I am planning to have the surgery -- in fact I am in the beginning stages of setting everything up. But am hoping there is an online chat or support group locally that I could get involved in. I have MSN and AOL messengers. I would also be open to a local in person meeting. Any info that people can share with me? I am familiar with the general chat but was hoping I would see people in the Wisconsin chat forum. Thank you, Annie

Hi Annie, I'm not sure how close you are to Green Bay, but I go to Bellin's support group every 1st and 3rd Thursday at 5:30. They have it posted on their calendar on their web page www.bellin.org. Carol

HI Daniel, A friend and I also wanted to start one in Marinette, but didn't get any bites on here. We travel to Green Bay twice a month now. Did you take the classes? I do know of a few people that come from Marinette Menominee now. They might want to stop the traveling. Carol

Hi carol.I guess part of the reason I was having trouble starting a group here,is that I dont know many peers who want to start a group.Plus the fact that I'm a PC dork and dont really know how to make fliers to get the word out doesnt help. I did have a couple of people get ahold of me expressing an intrest in a group here asked me if there was anything they could do to help,then I never heard from them again.So I just gave up for now.I cant really get to Green Bay for groups being that I'm on disability and really have to budgit myself,especially with the gas prices these days.So any and all of my support comes from Here at OH.generally it is enuff to sustain me but sometimes you want to meet others in person who have been thru this and share some fellowship.The Staff in GreenBay where I had my surgery said they would help in any way they could,but it just hasnt happened yet.Perhaps you and your friends and I can put our marbles together and come up with some kind of plan.Especially with winter coming up.I will be going stir crazy and need a reason to leave the house.Feel free to contact me.Maybe we can get this off the ground.
