support groups in Milwaukee, WI

Does anyone know of any support groups in Milwaukee,WI or near by? I have just started the whole process of doc apts and getting refferal letters to send in to my insurance company for approval and would love to talk to others who have been threw all this or are going threw it so I can ask questions. Thanks!

Froedtert has one the last Monday of every month. It is open to anyone, pre-op, post-op, just wondering, just supporting someone... and whoever else. Let me know if you want more information.

Columbia St. Mary's has a support group meeting every 2nd Monday and every 4th Tuesday of the month. Everyone is welcome. They will also help you get the approval of the insurance company if you are having your surgery with them.The people that work with the bariatric patients are very helpful and informative. Come join us.The meeting times are at 7:00 On Newport ave on the eastide.

If you have picked a hospital to work with they should have a support group. There is also a general WLS support group - open to anyone in the Milwaukee Area visit the site at milwaukeewls.com (put www. first) we meet once a month for a group meeting and once a month for dinner - a more casual social gathering.
