I am looking into having the LAP-BAND surgery done and I waiting for insurance approval now. Has anyone had Destiny Health insurance? Have they approved surgery for you? Let me know, I am anxious to find out! Please send me post! Thanks muches! Joely

Hi Joely, I live close to you and considered having my band done at the same place you are considering! Good for you. Do you know if that hospital has a support group? I would like to attend - my doctor's support group is in Madison in the middle of the day. I can't always attend due to work etc. I am trying to expand my support network. Read my profile for my story with my insurance company. It wasn't good. I'm wishing you the best of luck with your attempt and support your efforts! If there is something I can do to help, let me know. I want you to know that there are other neat tricks the government and other sources have to help you get this financed. Did you know you can write off the cost against your taxes? I'm starting a support group in Edgerton. If there is enough interest, I will start a WLS support group in Fort Atkinson. The Edgerton group will meet the second Thursday of every month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church, 100 W. Rollin St., Edgerton. The first meeting is September 8. HIYA HON! Yes the hospital does have a support group for this surgery. They meet the last Wed of every month and the next one is Aug 31st. I am not sure about my insurance. It is listed as an exclusion but they may do it if its medically nessessary. The hospital has never worked with them before so i really don't know what they will say. I am hoping for the best!!
