Question about food?
I am 6 mon post op wondering if this is typical of what everyone is eating at this far out
B: Instant breakfast with 2 scoops of protein powder
L: Protien Bar
S: Yogurt with 2 to 3 scoops protien
Snack maybe on some pretzels or rice cakes
I try to take a bite of meat but my pouch still does not like it. Foods don't really seem to agree with me at all.

Hi Cheryl,
I'm not as far out and I'm guessing we didn't have the same surgery. I have however talked to a few people who have had bypass and one person in my lap-band support group who are also having trouble eating - foods don't agree with them. I've personally had the experience of having food not agree with me and its not fun. It seems to be a trial and error kind of thing with me.
I did the chapter leader training with Monica Ganz from Obesity Help. She had Lap RNY and stressed that she can't eat meat at all and protein powder is really important to her because its how she gets in her protein.
You have a fantastic record of weight loss! YOU GO GIRL! I hope you are pleased with your progress. Are you feeling good? Getting there really takes hard work and a lot of sacrifice. Let me know how I can help support you!
Hang in there. I know its not easy!
Yours in pounds down,
Jen

I am sorry I forgot to mention the type of surgery I had it was the gastric bypass RNY. I am feeling good except for lots of back problems the docs think it is because I am more active now than before and my muscles are spazazzing out and pinching off nerves (very painful). But because of the surgery they don't want to give me any pills for spasms so I guess I just have to wait and see if it will go away. I do water therapy in a 92 degree pool 5 days a week, which helps. As far as calories I guess I never counted them, which I suppose I should I see my diatician next week I probably will get yelled at.
Thanks Cheryl
It sounds like way too little too me too. I eat much more than that. And much more solid foods to help me stay full. (I'm 5 months out)
But if that is keeping you full, and you're not feeling tired all the time from lack of calories, and getting all your protein, it should be ok. Just listen to your pouch.
A suggestion for the back problems. Ever think about a chiropractor visit? I know many people think chiropractors are a bunch of hooey, but as we lose so much weight so quickly, our center of gravity gets thrown off and can cause pain. Adjustments as you lose weight may help with that. Just a suggestion...
