Hi family

I just like to know if any one has been denied wls from Humana and had to go to the insurance commissioner. If so was it over turned or what happed?

Sherry, I had to get my surgery before January 1, 2005 because Humana was excluding WLS from ALL of its policies. Not 100% if that has actually gone through. I believe you have to go through the appeal process first before contacting the commissioner. Best of luck to you.

Thank you for your response, I have actually been fighting with my insurance company since 5/2004 , I have humana there is an exclusion for obesity, I am super , super morbidly obese . So i have been fighting for about a year now. I have been denied twice i sent my appeal to the insurance commissioner I hope that i get approved . My bmi is 70.5 i weight about 411 pound, My pcp did a medical of necessity letter for all my comorbities so hopefully it will be approved. please pray for me.

(HUGGS) Sherry my angelette don't think like that, that doctor was a jerk. You should know most people think because you are over weight you are worthless. You are not. You are a great person.... that doctor is a piece of crap. You have every right to be concerned for your health. I hate doctors like him. Your new pic looks GREAT hon.
