I need help!! If anyone in the Racine area has a good PCP, please tell me!! Our insurance is changing and now will not cover any WLS related visits. So Deb, the nurse prat. at Dr. Wallace's office suggested that I find a good PCP that will do my follow up for me. THe problem is, I live in Racine, my PCP now is not all that assertive. Last year when I told her I wanted to have WLS, she had little to no opinion and I don't feel comfortable going back to her. So... does anyone know of an AWESOME dr. that you can recommend?? I really need a good dr. anyways. With few other health issues I've had, I have not had good luck w/ finding a good Dr. Thanks so much ahead of time!! Melissa RNY 11/4/4 339 day of consult/ 318 surgery day/ 239 now!!

I wish I could suggest mine, but I can't. I would suggest you get listed all the labs you need done on a regular basis for sure and whatever other followup you need. At least you are 6 months out now, not just immediately post op.

She's not close to Racine (up in Fox Point off of the freeway), but if your insurance covers the Aurora system, Dr. Uberoi is a good choice (I'm biased, I work in that office!) she is an internal medicine specialist with an emphasis on diabetes, and I've seen her refer quite a few of her patients for WLS. She's usually pretty easy to get seen by, so you don't have to wait for weeks and weeks to get an appointment. She's very gentle and extremely well-liked by her patients. I hope this helps! ~Lauren

I love my PCP... Dr. Heyden at Advanced Healthcare on N. 76th in Milwaukee. But I used to live in Racine. My doctor there was Dr. Zablotney. My parents still see him. But I don't know how he is about WLS. I believe he is with Aurora, in Caledonia.

I don't know the Racine PCPs much anymore. I go to Dr David Munoz in S. Milwaukee, he's with Lakeshore Medical Clinic. I like him a lot and he worked with my surgeon Dr Lesage with All Saints. If you go with All Saints you'll probably have to take one of the newer docotrs. The old ones are usually too busy. Good luck.

I would suggest that maybe getting a PCP at the internal medicine clinic at Froedart if your insurance with work. It is one floor down from Dr. Wallace. All the records are computerized and you will not have to get copies of stuff to take with you to a new PCP.
