Getting shunned...

Has anyone ever gotten shunned by people now that you have lost weight? What I mean when I say "shunned" is that they don't act interested and never make any kind of comment. I can't believe there are people out there that can't be happy for people. I am happy for everyone on this board and website for being courageous enough to grab a hold of their life and get control! Keep up the good work!

I am currently still going through insurance issues and have not yet had my surgery but my sisters friend is going through the same thing you are. The people she works with do not comment on her weight loss and are somewhat rude to her. Guess what! They are jealous. Good for you. Keep it up and God Bless. ~Shannon

Thanks Shannon for your post. I feel like so wonderful and I have only one true friend that I can confide in. Some people are nice and would like to know about GBS, but some others are down right cruel. Thanks again for your input. Hope everything goes well for you! Take care...Toni

I have friends at work that haven't said a word! I am down 93#. I wasn't open about why I was on medical leave, so they don't know I had surgery, but it is noticable. I wouldn't let it bother you. People have all sorts of reasons for not celebrating other's successes. Celebrate your own success and be happy with yourself. If they say something, great, if not that's fine too. Enjoy the successes everyday, Margaret
