Anyone take flax oil for cravings?

I remember that a few months ago I was in the chat room and people were talking about taking flax seed oil for sweet cravings. I was in there tonight and no one remembered. Anyone here? I have (had) been taking it 2x a day, am and pm, and all I got was smelly gas-worse than usual believe it or not-and the poops. Is there anything we can take that will help control the cravings for sweets? You gals know that around "that time" we get alittle edgy and crave yummy snacks. Help me before I launch head first into the bag of Twizzlers I just bought!!! I am also looking for others in the Beaver Dam area who might want to get together and hand and chat. Maybe some lunches or whatnot. I am new to the area with my family and don't know many people here, especially "special" people like us!! Thanx.

Hi Becky, Honestly I have never heard of that either. I think if it causes you those other symptoms I would avoid it. I just don't think there is something we can take to help control those cravings, seeing that those cravings are usually in our brain. How far out are you from surgery? Have you had these cravings daily or just on occasion? Remember, we have to make good choices now with what we put in our mouths. I think it is good to acknowledge the cravings, but don't allow them to control you or what you put in your body. If you are far enough out from surgery (probably >6 months), allow yourself a taste or a bite and see if that can satisfy those cravings. So many of us deprived ourselves every time we went on a "diet", and we know that doesn't work long term. So plan to have a "treat" every now and then if your body can tolerate it. But remember again to remain conscious and in control of what you are eating! Happy holidays! Traci
