Stones after your gallbladder is gone....

Hi all...well last week I wrote a post about this awful pain I am experiencing...Well, have gone through alot of tests, and more to come, but so far...they believe I have stones in my bile duct...I didnt know we can still produce stones even after your gallbladder is removed...I guess it is rare, but does happen...It will be a very extensive surgery I guess....they cant do a scope, not the typical endoscopy, because of the New Anatomy of mine....shucks! I am going in on Thursday for some tests, then Monday again, then to a specialist for a second opinion per my surgeons request...He said I would have to have this open...darn the luck as I had my RNY lap....but I have to much scar tissue he says for that particular surgery....I will be in the hospital about 8 days I guess...Just wanted to let you all know about this as a possibility...Thanks and take care all.. Lora, Wow, I went through the same thing. I had a stone in my bile duct. I am pre op so luckily they could do the scope. I was in pain for a whole month trying to convince the doctors that I had something wrong with me. I got the stone about 3 months after my gall bladder was removed. It was an uphill battle, but I finally got them to agree to do a scope and they found it. I felt instant relief. I feel for you having to have this open.
