Time frame w/ UW Health ...
Hello, Anyone here with Garren and Gould that can give me an idea on time frame? I submitted all my stuff (app, food diary, doctor's letter). I am wondering how long until you get a call to schedule a consultation? And then how long from that call to the actual consultation? And then how long from consultation to surgery? I would love some feedback. I will probably be a self-pay, so waiting for insurance is not an issue. I just don't want to drive the clinic crazy calling and asking all these questions.
thanks!

Hi Donna,
I am scheduled for surgery Dec.14 with Dr. Starling at UW. Most of the time frame with me was dealing with insurance. I was able to get a consultation appt. after I had my initial information about 3 weeks out. After my approval (about 2 weeks ago) from the insurance company, the surgery was scheduled. I am very impressed with UW. I met with Dr. Gould for consultation, I need to have open surgery, and Dr. Starling does those.
I am from northern Wisconsin, and about a 5 hour drive to Madison. They were very helpful in scheduling all of the pre-op tests together to keep the trips to Madison to 3 until the next trip for the surgery itself. Don't worry about asking questions!! I've had to be my own best advocate for the insurance mess. Persistance and asking the questions is to your benefit, and you are doing all of this for you. Keep me posted on your journey. God Bless you and your journey.

Renee,
Thanks for answering. I have been wondering if I may need to have open also, as I have a HUGE scar from having my gall bladder and appendix removed in the days before lap!! I am also very impressed with UW. I am so anxious to have this done! I was really hoping to have surgery during school winter break (I work in an elementary school), but I can see now that that will be impossible. I just turned in my paperwork on Nov. 1.
I will keep your date in mind and be praying for you.
