Rebirthday Adventure Pole!!!
Hey everyone this is just a quick note. I had RNY lap on Sept. 9 2004 at St. Michaels Hospital with Dr. Reising. So far to date I have lost a total of 50 puonds. My energy levels are up and I am feeling better than I can ever remember. I am off all of my medications for Diabetes, high blood pressure, and back pain. The only thing was a few weeks ago I developed gout in both my feet. I was basically bed ridden for about 3 weeks. Other than that my experience has been totally positive and I am looking forward to the many things my new life has to offer. I see this as a rebirth a sort of right to passage. I am starting to weight lift and hope to tone some. As the weight and inches come off there is a little extra skin to contend with and weight training and toning may help this a little if not I will have a tummy tuck to correct this in about a year. I was wondering if anyone else is or did plan a one year birthday adventure. My sister and I both had surgery this year pretty close together and on our anniversary we are planning on going hicking in the moutians (her dream) and a sky diving school (My Dream). Both things we could only dream of and watch from the sidelines only a few months ago. My question is this if you did or are going to plan a one year birthday adventure what are you planning and why?

On my anniversary which was also Mother's Day weekend, I had a cookout and I threw my favorite (former favorite) clothes in for a burning ceremony. I bawled alot when I held them up to me for the last time. They were huge! I was so happy to be down from 262# to 158#. Now it is almost 3 years and I am #138 and getting smaller. I don't need an adventure because everything I do now is one. Tying my shoes, having a job that doesn't leave me sweaty and tired. No more crawling to the bathroom in the middle of the night because my feet hurt too much to walk on. Been there? That's my adventure, just plain old living everyday and thanking God I can tie my shoes without huffing and puffing and grunting like the pig I was. The little things mean the most!!
