Is this an NSV and that incessant question

I'm still pre-op so, I'm hoping this counts as an NSV. I'm now down 15 pounds since my initial consult on 9/9. I'm in an OLD pair of jeans that have been in a drawer for a few years... and they are comfy! yippee... now I'm getting that incessant question, "since you're doing so well, do you think you'll still need the surgery?"

Chris~ I hear that ALLLLL the time! I have lost 22 pounds since my consultation, I had to in order to get my stuff sent to insurance. Everyone keeps asking me that... It's gets old quick. Then tonight when I was dropping my kids off at church I was talking to a friend about my WLS( which is in 1 week) another gal was there and she just kept shaking her head in disapproval... she was like, oh you better be careful and blah blah blah... she says she knows a few people that had it and had trouble... it irritates me that because someone has a friend/relative/acquaintance that has had WLS and has had issues, they are all of a sudden an expert in WLS!!! Like i haven't spent HOURS researching this, talking to people, getting involved so much that I dream about WLS and I think about it constantly, trying to absorb every bit of info. i can so that I make an informed decision. But they are an expert on it because of so & so who they know... Sorry, not trying to sound so negative, I feel quite peaceful about my decison, just getting tired of people's opinions and unwaranted advise!! so i know h ow you feel!! God Bless, Melissa RNY 11-4-04

Congratulations on your 15lb weight loss so far! You should be proud of yourself. Just ignore the questions and do what you feel is right for you. You and I know all about dieting yoyoing even if they don't.
