Check in here if you were at Monday Nights Support Meeting?! I see alot of patients on here being with the Froedert Program but don't recall seeing them at the meeting. Lets say Hi to one another and build some support! Im Deb, and had had surgery on October 14th. Thursday Oct 28 will be 2 weeks. I can say I'm feeling pretty fabulous! Ok well maybe not that fabulous enough to jump, but not feeling too shabby either!

Hi Deb! My name is Melissa and I went to the support group last night at Froedtert! My surgery is scheduled for next Thursday. I can hardly believe it's coming up so fast!! Were you at the group last night? If you were ,i think i know who you are, LOL... I had to duck out before it officially ended.. I have 4 kids and they were all w/ a babysitter so I had to get home. Well good luck, It's nice to start getting to know others in the area and be able to support each other!! God Bless, Melissa

Hi Melissa! I think I remember seeing you there, but wasn't sure if that was you or not! I had heard several others saying that they had their pre surgery meeting yesterday, and thought maybe some of them (including yourself) had maybe made it over to this board! I was sitting in the second row on the far side of the room with my bf. I was the one that had surgery "11 days" ago! LOL Now 12! ;) My poor bf, he worked all day, and I convinced him to come saying that the meetings usually last only 1 hour to 1.5 hours....little did I know that the meeting would last 2.5 hours! Its a first thats for sure! We actually ended up leaving before they were done at 8pm! They were still going! He was hungry, I had errands yet to run....you know how that is! I thought it was a great meeting though! Very informative! I like the general group talks! Speakers are good too, but they become sooo repedative after awhile. I think I've heard the vitamin one like 4 times already! Glad to meet you also! If you ever need anything, let me know! You will do great, and surgery will go by soo fast! Nothing to be nervous about! (this coming from the girl that cried that whole morning before surgery!) LOL ~Debby

Hi Laurie! Froedert has 2 support groups 1. for people like us....pre-op/or post op less than 1 year out. and 2. People that are over 1 year post op. The one I currently go to since Im just post op on 10/14/04 is the first one. That one meets once a month at the Wisconsin Athletic Club on the Medical College campus, last monday of each month from 6-7:30pm. Its a great help and is mostly geared towards Froedert patients, but I've seen others from outside our hospital go too. You could always check with Deb Andris who is in charge of it. Im sure if she knew you worked there she would say its ok to come regularly. Hope this helps! Debby

Hi Deb, I just got the news today that I have been approved for surgery with Dr. Wallace on December 9. I will be looking for a support group. I have often thought about going to one pre-op but somehow I never did it. I'll try to remember ....last Monday of the month. Nice meeting you. Marsha
