5 months out....
Gosh has it been that long?? Seems like it was yesterday! Well, since my surgery in May...I have seem to have gotten so busy that I cant get online to do much posting anymore! Now, that is a good thing!! Before surgery, I was unemployed...since surgery, I now have about 5 clients weekly that I clean and/or take care of...and I also work part-time at a local credit union....I have joined the gym and work out every other night....I normally ride my bike at home on the off nights at the gym...I have joined Cardio Kickboxing as well...The only down side I no longer seem to have time to just "breath"!!! Not enough time for grandkids or family.....
Went to the doc last week...he said I am doing great and that he dont want me to loose no more than 10 more pounds...How can that be??? I look in the mirror and still see fat! Though when I put clothes on that used to be to snug...they are now to huge! Good thing!! I guess it will take awhile to get out of my head....I am now at 135....something I havent seen for over 20 years! My doc has also asked my brother and I (he had his surgery a month ago) to be guest speakers at a support group meeting....yikes!! I really hate getting in front of people ....so does my brother....but I figured what the heck...it is good therapy!
So all in all, no post op problems at all...other than one time with dehydration and some ulcers...but I am very thankful that is all...What a great year this has turned out to be! Thanksgiving will have a whole new meaning!
Take care all...

Wow! Lora, that is so awesome. I hope I do half as well as you are doing. I am SO looking forward to having this surgery. I know it won't be easy, but just the prospect of being 135# again is amazing. For the first time in a long time, I actually have hope that I might be able to accomplish my weight loss goals.
Thanks for sharing your inspiring journey - and YOU GO GIRL!!!
Hope you have a wonderful, happy & blessed Thanksgiving.

Hi Lora.
I don't check out the Wisconsin board too often, but I am glad I did this morning. Wow!! You are doing great and it is so exciting to know that your surgeon is so impressed with you that he would like you to tell others your story!! I know you don't like getting in front of crowds, but for this, I know you will do it for the good of others. I would love to do that for my surgeon since I sincerely feel that he saved my life twice in March. I owe my life to him.
I am very inspired by your story and your motivation to keep working out and working so hard to keep this working. How do you like the exercise?? I have slacked off a bit due to just being so busy trying to get last minute seasonal stuff done. There is so much to do that it just never seems that I will get it all done. I'm sure you have those days as well.
I am still planning on getting up to your neck of the woods in the next month or so, but I guess I will just have to see where the time takes me. I only have every other weekend off and have been taking my off weekends to do stuff with the kids and other outside stuff that needs to get done. If we still do get up there soon, I will let you know ASAP and hopefully, we can hook up for a little while!!
You take care now and keep up the good work. Keep posting when you get time too. It truly keeps people like me inspired and is very helpful for pre and post ops to see your successes as well. You have done so well and will continue to do the same with your great attitude!!
Be good now...K-Man
