Hi All, I found out my surgery date is September 28th. I have lots of things to get done before then and need some advice. First off, I'm not sure what to take to the hospital or what to have on hand when I get home from the hospital. What type of products such as protein powders, drinks, vitamins, calcium, yogurt, or anything that I could eat post op for a liquid diet for a full month. I am also wondering, is there anything I should be incorporating into my diet to prevent hair loss? I am planning on getting a perm and foil before surgery as I have read where sometimes the anesthesia could alter the outcome if done afterward. Another question I have is does anyone have any suggestions as far as things I should do before surgery or ask such as maybe taking measurements or whatever? I am not even sure what areas to take measurements on. If anyone has any suggestions in this area as well, I would truly appreciate any advise. I want to be as prepared as I can be. My angle is Julie D and she will be keeping tabs on me. God Bless her!!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE I need any and all information you all could give me. Even as to where to purchase certain products, names of them etc. Thanks so much in advance. Warmly, Sherri B

Sherri, Good luck to you! This is one gross thing that I have learned through peer communication. Many people cannot reach their own bottom to wipe it after surgery. A cheap pair of plastic tongs may be very helpful to you if you are one of them when you get home. Also, I planned for the worst, in the event that my mom would have to go to my home and take care of things for me. So, I made a couple spreadsheets with all my credit card info, mortgage info, what companies and lendors I owed money to, and when I made my last payment, and where all my money/bank/insurance accounts were. Thankfully, I came home safe and sound and noone had to take care of my affairs, but the spreadsheets still really helped me when I was feeling crappy several weeks later and had to start paying the regular monthly bills again. Everything was laid out clearly in front of me. Hope all goes well for you!

Thanks so much Dx, I copy and pasted it and ran a copy off so I could have it. It is little things such as you are doing that makes preparation more easier for the rest of us. God Bless You. Warmly, Sherri B
