What a sweet and proud daughter you have - it really touches my heart to hear how grateful she is that you have lost the weight. Sometimes I don't think we realize how much our weight affects our childrens life also. Have a great weekend Julie

Hey Liss, It's not all ladies out here, so don't get the wrong impression. There's just so few of us guys. I had the surgery about 13 months ago, and had some of the same complications that your dad had. I know you must have been scared. I have a son 15years old, and before my surgery, even though he would never admit it, I'm sure he was a touch embarrassed of his Obese father when around his friends. Now that I've lost around 184lbs, and shop at Abercrombie and Fitch, he likes all of his friends To meet me. We work out together at the gym, and shoot basketball out in the driveway with his friends. I didn't have this surgery to "look" better, but rather to live long enough to see my son grown, with kids of his own. I'm sure it was the same for your dad. He loves you guys enough to risk the super solution to his old life. So many of the folks out here are complete and total strangers that share this one experience, Of being obese and making the ultimate decision to have this "lifesaving surgery." It's great to have others who know exactly what you're going through. Please know that even though they aren't out here on the message board, there are thousands of sons and daughters, that have had they're lives changed by the "re-birth" of a parent. Best Wishes- Dx
