Never too early to start. Find an activity you can stick with for life. Something you do not dread or think of as work. I took up swimming and started out slow. Now I swim 5 days a week for 1 hour, and run or do tae bo the other 2 days. Not only did swimming help in the weight loss process, but I never had to have any extra skin removed! The swimming really sculpted and toned my body. I have a little flab on my inner thighs and upper arms, but nothing compared to what it could have been. Go for it!

Marilyn, The more you can do the better off you will be! I was walking the day I got out of the hospital...even in the hospital I was walking til the carpet was worn!!! Just start out slow....I would start with one block, but by the time I was home, I was pooped! But it got easier and easier, then about 2 weeks after surgery I was biking...about 2 miles a day, now I can go 6 miles....not every day anymore, I am too busy with everything else!! Good luck! Ok - let me try this again - my other message dissapeared mid typing. Listen to your body, Marilyn - it will let you know when enough is enough. I was walking the day of surgery and walked every day - even if it was just a little tiny bit - it made me feel better. Good luck at your check up appointment.
